Litsea gardneri is a species of plant in the Lauraceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka. It is known as "talan - තලන්" in Sinhala.
Leaves
alternate, large, oval-oblong, acute base, obtuse apex, beneath minutely white tomentose, many arched lateral veins; flush pale violet.
Trunk
Bark - leaf-scarred, gray; young parts pubescent.
Flowers
pale yellow, few, sessile; Inflorescence - umbels, in axillary racemes shorter than leaves.
Fruits
ovoid drupe; shallowly cup-shaped perianth.
Ecology
montane and rain forest canopy;
Uses
constructions.
