This is a list of trains run by Indian Railways.

• Assam Mail^[1][2] – was one of the better known metre gauge trains in the Indian Railway system that was there from the pre-independence days till it was sent into oblivion by the advent of the broad gauge on a wider scale in the 1980s.
• Bhopal Janata Express – previously ran between Bhopal Junction railway station (formerly Bhopal station) of Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai Central railway station (formerly Bombay Central) of Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra. The train is now altered to Kushinagar Express, which is the extended version of Mumbai - Bhopal Janata Express.
• Bhopal – Bina Passenger – runs between Bhopal Junction railway station of Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh and Bina Junction railway station of Bina, in the Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh
• Bhopal – Indore Intercity Express – a daily intercity express train which runs between Bhopal Habibganj, the suburban railway station of Bhopal, the capital city of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh and Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city & commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh.
• Bhopal – Indore Passenger – runs between Bhopal Junction railway station of Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh and Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city & commercial hub of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh.
• Bhopal – Jodhpur – a daily fast passenger train which runs between Bhopal Junction railway station of Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh and Jodhpur, a city in Rajasthan.
• Bhopal – Mumbai Express – commonly referred as "Bhopal - Mumbai Express", is a weekly superfast express train which runs between Bhopal Habibganj railway station of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus railway station of Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra.
• Bhopal – Ujjain Passenger – runs between Bhopal Junction and Ujjain Junction, railway station of Ujjain, the holy city of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh.
• Chennai – Salem Express – runs from Salem to Chennai in Tamil Nadu State.
• Chitrakoot Express – a daily Mail/Express train that runs between Jabalpur Junction railway station of Jabalpur, an important city & military cantonment hub of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh and Lucknow railway station, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.
• Damoh–Kota Passenger – a daily passenger train service offered by West Central Railway. It runs between Damoh Railway Station of Damoh City, Madhya Pradesh and Kota Junction Railway Station in Rajasthan.
• Darbhanga–Bangalore Express – a weekly train from Bangalore in Karnataka to Darbhanga in Bihar via Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.
• Darjeeling Mail – one of the legendary trains in the eastern region of India that has been running from pre-independence days and is still in operation. It connects to the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway at New Jalpaiguri in Siliguri. This is a major train for Kolkata-Siliguri route and Haldibari slip route.
• Duronto Express – a category of long distance trains. The special feature of these trains is that they run non-stop from source to destination, barring technical halts. All Duronto Express trains can be easily recognized by the characteristic yellow-green livery of their passenger coaches. Several Duronto Express services connect the metros and major state capitals of India. The Duronto Express trains are projected to be the fastest trains between the particular pair of cities they serve, although this is not necessarily true for all services.
• East Coast Express (India) – a daily train running between Hyderabad and Howrah near Calcutta. This train numbered 18645/46 takes 30 hours to cover the distance of 1592 km due to lot of stops on the way.
• Garib Rath – one of the premier trains introduced by the Indian Railways in 2005 by Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav to provide fully air-conditioned travel to passengers who could not afford the expensive tickets of Rajdhani and Shatabdi express trains. The Garib Rath, whose name means "Poor Man's Chariot", was introduced with features of full air-conditioning and speed faster than most other super-fast express trains. The maximum speed of Garib Rath trains is 130 kmph which is the same as Rajdhani's top speed. However, in Garib Rath trains, passengers are not normally provided with blankets and pillows; and they have to pay extra to get them.
• Gwalior–Chhindwara Express – a bi-weekly express train which will run between Gwalior Junction railway station of Gwalior and Chhindwara Junction railway station of Chhindwara. Both the cities are located in Madhya Pradesh. Recently Indian Railways Extended the train Up to Delhi Sarai Rohilla.
• Hazrat Nizamuddin – Indore Express – a mail/express train of the Indian Railways, which runs between Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station of Delhi, the capital city of India and Indore railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Central Indian state, Madhya Pradesh. The train is India's ISO Certified train.
• Hazrat Nizamuddin – Jabalpur Express – a mail/express train of Indian Railways, which runs between Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station of Delhi, the capital city of India and Jabalpur Junction railway station of Jabalpur, the major tourist city of Central Indian state, Madhya Pradesh. The train is India's ISO Certified train.
• Himsa Express – a superfast weekly train between Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) and Kanniyakumari (Tamil Nadu), India.
• Hyderabad Mumbai Express – a daily train linking Hyderabad City and Mumbai. The train shares the rakes of Hussainsagar Express and follows the same route, though the latter is a superfast express. The train manifests as 7031 Mumbai - Hyderabad Mumbai Express and 7032 Hyderabad - Mumbai Mumbai Express. This train does has AC First Class.
• Imperial Indian Mail – was a train route from Bombay to Calcutta during the British Raj.^[3] The train was featured in a 1939 film of the same title starring Noor Jehan and Gulzar.^[4] The train that Mrs. Moore and Adela Quested took to get to Chandrapore was, most likely, the Imperial Indian Mail.^[5]
• Indore - Bhopal Intercity Express – a daily intercity express train which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city & commercial hub of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh and Bhopal Habibganj, the sub-urban railway station of Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh.
• Indore Tri Shatabdi – a weekly Superfast Mail/Express train of the Indian Railways, which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh and Nagpur, the third largest city of neighbouring state Maharashtra.
• Indore – Bandra Express – a weekly express service offered by Western Railway. It runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Central Indian state, Madhya Pradesh and Bandra Terminus railway station of Mumbai, the commercial hub and capital of Maharashtra.
• Indore – Chennai Express – was a weekly mail express train of the Indian Railways, running between Chennai Central railway station of Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu and Indore Junction BG railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh. Previously it was running between Chennai and Indore, later it extended to Trivandrum.
• Indore – Dehradun Express – alternatively Ujjaini Express (Ujjain - Dehradun - Ujjain) is a bi-weekly train service, which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial capital of Central Indian state called Madhya Pradesh and Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand state in India. The name "Ujjaini Express" refers to the ancient Hindu mythological city named Ujjaini near Indore.
• Indore – Hazrat Nizamuddin Express – is a daily super fast train service which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station of Delhi, the capital city of India. This train is the only lengthy train from Indore, having a total of 24 Coaches and is the most preferable choice of the Indore people to reach Delhi.
• Indore – Jabalpur Express – a daily express overnight train which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city of Madhya Pradesh and Jabalpur Junction railway station of Jabalpur, the other largest city of the state.
• Indore – Jaipur Express – an Indian passenger train that connects Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial capital of central Indian state Madhya Pradesh with Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan.

The train is the fastest point to point connection of Indore with Jaipur and vice versa.

• Indore – Maksi Passenger – a passenger train of Indian Railways, which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city & commercial hub of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh and Maksi Junction railway station of Maksi, Madhya Pradesh.
• Indore – Nagda Passenger – a passenger train of Indian Railways, which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh and Nagda Junction railway station of Nagda, the important industrial city of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh
• Indore – Nagpur Express – a weekly superfast mail/express train of Indian Railways, which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city & commercial hub of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh and Nagpur, the third largest city of neighbouring state Maharashtra.
• Indore – Patna Express – a Mail/Express Train of the Indian Railways, which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city & commercial hub of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh and Patna Junction, railway station of Patna, the capital city of Bihar.
• Indore asddcc– Pune Express – a Mail/Express Train of the Indian Railways, which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city & commercial hub of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh and Pune, the commercial hub of neighbouring state Maharashtra.
• Indore – Rajendra Nagar Via. Faizabad Express – a Weekly Mail/Express Train of the Indian Railways, which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city & commercial hub of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh and Rajendra Nagar, the sub-urban railway station of Patna, the capital city of Bihar.
• Indore – Surat Express – a holiday special express service offered by Western Railway. It runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Central Indian state, Madhya Pradesh and Surat the economic capiltal of gujarat and city of dimond and silk in India.
• Indore – Udaipur City Express – a daily Mail - Express train service which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Central Indian state, Madhya Pradesh and Udaipur, a major city in Rajasthan, India.
• Indore – Ujjain Passenger – a passenger Train of the Indian Railways, which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh and Ujjain Junction railway station of Ujjain, the holy city of Central Indian state Madhya Pradesh
• Indore–Ajmer Express – was a daily Link Express train which was running between Indore Junction MG railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh and Ajmer, the holy pilgrimage in Rajasthan.
• Indore–Ajmer Link Express – was a daily link express train which runs between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh and Ajmer, a pilgrimage spot in Rajasthan
• Indore–Ajmer metre-gauge trains – are the series of metre gauge trains, running between Indore Mhow (Indore Cantt.) railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Central Indian state, Madhya Pradesh and Ratlam Junction (MG) railway station of Ratlam in the same state.
• Indore–Amritsar Express – a weekly mail express train which runs between Indore Junction BG railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh and Amritsar, a city in Punjab, India
• Indore–Bhind Express –
• Intercity Express (Indian Railways) – is the express-train service in India which connects major railway junctions and state capitals. The trains are less expensive than other express trains, and usually reach their destinations within 5–6 hours. They usually complete a round trip in a day, returning to the origin station at night and using only a single rake. Generally, they have only sitting accommodations and a pantry car.
• Intercity Express – Agra – provides link between Indore Junction in Indore to Gwalior Junction in Gwalior. The train starts from Indore at 6:00 AM. and reaches Gwalior Junction, at around 9:50 AM.
