List of tallest buildings in Australia

These are lists of the tallest buildings in Australia.

Australia has more skyscrapers per person than any other country in the world with a population greater than five million.[1]

The vast majority of Australian skyscrapers are located in the three eastern states of New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria. Of Australia's high-rise buildings with a height of over 150 m, 31 are located in Melbourne,[2] 29 in Sydney,[3] 11 in Brisbane,[4] 7 on the Gold Coast,[5] 4 in Perth[6] and 2 in Chatswood.[7]

Two standards are used for measuring height - with a separate table for each official height to architectural detail (which includes architectural features such as spires, but not antennas) as defined by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, and height to the roof of the tower.

Tallest buildings to architectural detail

This list includes the tallest completed and topped out buildings in the country as of 2013, ranked by official height as defined by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.[8] Official heights include spires but exclude communications masts and antennae.

Tallest buildings to roof height

Many skyscraper aficionados prefer height to roof to determine tallest building in the world, as "architectural feature" is regarded as a subjective and less fair measure. These measurements are taken to the roof of the tower and do not include spires.
