The list of shipwrecks in March 1939 includes all ships sunk, foundered, grounded, or otherwise lost during March 1939.

Juniata
- Amizade Segundo (
Portugal): The schooner was wrecked in the Tagus.[1]
- Juniata (
United Kingdom): The tanker was scuttled at Inganess Bay, Orkney Islands.[2] The wreck is still in situ as of November 2008.
- Prudent de Moraes (
Brazil): The passenger ship ran aground on Punta Carrera, Chile.[1]
4 March
- Kung Lee (
China): The passenger ship struck Round Rock, Wei Hai Wei and sank. All crew and passengers were rescued.[3]
- Matilda (
Denmark): The schooner ran aground on Falsterbo Reef, Sweden. She was a total loss.[3]
5 March
- Orm Jarl (
Norway): The cargo ship collided with D'Entrecasteaux (
France) in the Scheldt and sank on the Kettelplaat.[3]
7 March
- Castillo de Olite (
Spain): Spanish Civil War: The troopship was shelled and sunk off Cartagena by shore-based artillery with the loss of 1,476 of the 2,112 people on board.[4]
8 March
- Saint Prosper (
France): Spanish Civil War: The cargo ship struck a mine off Roses (Catalonia) and sank while en route to Oran from Marseilles with the loss of all 27 crew.[5][6]

- Chepo (
Panama): The cargo ship ran aground at Cape Sidero, Crete, Greece.[10]
- Egeran (
Germany): The cargo ship foundered in the North Sea after passing the Elbe Lighthouse on a voyage from Hamburg to Rotterdam.[11]
- Malini (
Thailand): The cargo ship suffered an explosion in her engine room and sank off Mersing, Malaya. One of her 61 crew was killed by the explosion.[9][12]
- Sontay (
France): The cargo liner ran aground on the Meteor Reef, French Somaliland.[13]

- Soriano (
United Kingdom): World War II: The Admiralty requisitioned cargo ship was scuttled in Kirk Sound, Scapa Flow as a Block Ship. Salvaged in 1948.[16]

- Orion (
Estonia): The cargo ship ran aground at Skælskør, Denmark.[17]
- Shinai
United Kingdom): The cargo ship struck an uncharted rock at Chaunchow, China and was holed. She was taken to Amoy to be beached for temporary repairs to be made.[17]
- Vassilios T (
Greece): The cargo ship struck a rock in the Adriatic Sea off Vis and sank. All crew were rescued.[19]

- HMS Aberdeen (
Royal Navy): The Grimsby-class sloop ran aground at St Tropez, France. Refloated on 23 March.[20]
- Fort de Souville (
France): The cargo ship came ashore near the Nieuwe Sluis Lighthouse, Netherlands.[21] Refloated on 23 March.[22]
- Frode (
France): The cargo ship ran aground at Danzig, Germany. She was refloated later that day.[21]

- Limpopo (
Portugal): The cargo liner ran aground in the Limpopo.[29] Refloated on 30 April having lost a propeller.[30]
- Wolfsburg (
Germany): The cargo ship ran aground on the Farasan Islands in the Red Sea and was holed. Later refloated and proceeded to Basrah, Iraq for inspection.[26]

- Cite D'Athenes (
France): The cargo ship foundered off Psara, Greece with the loss of all hands.[29]
- Frixos (
Greece): The cargo ship foundered off Levitha, Greece with the loss of all but one of the crew.[24]
28 March
- Chelyuskinets (
Soviet Union): The cargo ship ran aground on the Revelstein Reef in the Baltic Sea. She broke in two and was declared a total loss.[34] The stern section was refloated on 7 April and towed to Tallinn, Estonia.[35] It was then towed to Leningrad.[36] Bow section refloated on 11 May and towed to Leningrad,[37]
