List of reptiles of Great Britain

Adder

Ten or eleven species of reptiles occur in Great Britain: three snakes and three lizards, which were established at the time of the last ice age. Additionally, one terrapin, one snake and two or three lizards have become established since then due to human agency (naturalized). All of these species are now free living, and self supporting in terms of breeding without further human involvement, with the exception of the Italian wall lizard whose survival is uncertain.

Sea turtles have been recorded as coastal vagrants and the red-eared terrapin occurs as an introduced species.
