List of programs broadcast by Adult Swim

This is a list of television programs formerly or currently broadcast on Cartoon Network's late night programming block, Adult Swim in the United States. Although both networks share the same time space, Adult Swim is classified as a separate entity for the purposes of Nielsen ratings.

Unlike other networks, Adult Swim usually leaves the door open for canceled shows to come back, be it on air or in another format. Show creators may choose to move on to a new project, but because of the channel's flexible scheduling and low production costs, there is a chance the canceled show could return some day. For example, Space Ghost Coast to Coast has been brought back in short form on Gametap while The Brak Show, Perfect Hair Forever, and 12 Oz. Mouse all had webisodes released on Adult Swim Video following their conclusions.[1][2][3]

Perfect Hair Forever2004–07, 2014 A indirect spinoff of Space Ghost Coast to Coast. A second season of 16 episodes was to premiere on Adult Swim Video in 2007, but the income made off the broadband service was not sufficient enough. A seventh episode was played during the 2007 April Fool's Day, along with the previous episodes in reverse order. The pilot episode was released on DVD as part of Adult Swim in a Box on October 27, 2009. Six episodes were made and the creators are not interested in continuing it for a second season. The show ended after a few more conclusion episodes were made. A new episode was aired unannounced on April Fools Day 2014.

Picked up for six episodes in 2010.[36] The first 4 episodes premiered in Adult Swim's "DVR Theater" May 24, 2011.[37] The episode "Pilot" and another unknown episode were never aired. Gavin McInnes, who voiced Mick, the soccer ball, confirmed the series was canceled. It was created by Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis. Was aired as a contest in which viewers will like to pick a pilot on March 28, 2010.
Space Ghost Coast to Coast2001–04 Originally aired on Cartoon Network. The program was moved to Adult Swim when the block premiered in 2001. Initially ended in April 2004 with 93 episodes. Was revived in 2006, and new episodes began to premiere on Gametap in short form. The GameTap version premiered on May 30, 2006, and ended on May 31, 2008 with 104 episodes.

IGPX 2013–15 Premiered April 28, 2013 at 2am/1c on Toonami. A collaborative project between Production I.G and Cartoon Network. Originally aired on Cartoon Network's Toonami block from 2005 to 2006. The rights were forfeited by Cartoon Network for tax deductions in 2006, but were reacquired from Production I.G in 2013. It is Toonami's first and only original series. The series ceased airing May 3, 2014, and was replaced by Attack on Titan, according to Toonami's official Tumblr account. The series will return to Adult Swim, according to the Toonami staff. Returned January 3, 2015 at 5am/4c. Removed after January 25, 2015 due to poor ratings and loss of hour. Toonami staff said it may return in the future.

Cartoon Planet2005–06 A block spun off from Space Ghost Coast to Coast which aired comedy sketches alongside the theatrical shorts and classic cartoon shows usually shown on Cartoon Network. Later re-ran as a 22-episode half-hour variety series featuring the block's interstitials, which Adult Swim used for filler in the 5–6 a.m. time slot. Like SGC2C, originally premiered and aired as regular Cartoon Network programming. Currently a programming block again on Cartoon Network and TBS, and now includes assorted Cartoon Network programming with Space Ghost absent.[70]

Sometime during this run the series aired two episodes back-to-back on Saturdays, which was increased to four episodes toward the end of the third run, so that it could be completed before the airing rights expired. At the end of the series' third full run, it was pulled from the schedule, with Episode 37 (the final episode of the series) being the last episode aired. Shortly thereafter, in early 2010, the airing rights to the series expired, along with those of Blood+.,[72] Only the final episode is rated TV-MA.
Durarara!!2011–12 Durarara!!, often romanized as DRRR!! in Japan, is a Japanese light novel series written by Ryohgo Narita, with illustrations by Suzuhito Yasuda, that has also been adapted in to a Japanese anime series. The series premiered on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 12:30am/11:30c and ended on Saturday, December 17, 2011. Pulled from Adult Swim's lineup following the relaunch of Toonami. Episodes were streamed on Adult Swim's website until June 2013.
Eureka Seven2006–08; 2012–13Episodes 26–50 aired with special disclaimers warning viewers about the content of the episodes during the program's 2006–08 runs. The airing rights expired right after its then-final rerun in 2008, but were renewed in August 2012. The series aired until August 2013, where it was removed from the schedule following completion of one full run. The Toonami staff have stated that it is highly unlikely that the series will ever return to Adult Swim. Episode 44, titled "It's All in the Mind" was the only episode to receive a TV-MA-V rating, or a TV-MA rating in general. Edited for content.
Fullmetal Alchemist2004–10 Premiered on November 6, 2004 and ended on March 18, 2006. Continued to air reruns until 2010, where it was replaced by the reboot of the anime, entitled Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The series has been not aired on the network since. On November 19, 2012, it was confirmed on Toonami's Tumblr account that Adult Swim no longer has the rights to air the original Fullmetal Alchemist. Episode 51, titled "Laws and Promises", aired with a special disclaimer, warning viewers about the content of the episode.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood2010–14 Premiered February 13, 2010 at Midnight/11c.[73] The series is a remake of the series Fullmetal Alchemist, based on the events of the manga as opposed to the separate direction the original anime went into. New episodes returned on January 8, 2011 and ended on September 25, 2011. Rights to the series expired in January 2015, and the last airing was December 13, 2014 at 4am/3c.[53]
Futurama2003–07Cancelled FOX series. Adult Swim syndicated the four seasons that originally aired on FOX. Syndication was later purchased by Comedy Central in 2005. Adult Swim's rights to the show expired December 31, 2007, with the season four episode, "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings" being the last episode aired. The Room2009 This movie was aired in 2009 as Adult Swim's annual tradition to bait-and-switch their schedule on April Fools' Day. In 2010 it was re-aired on April Fools' Day, for the second year in a row; featuring Space Ghost interviewing Tommy Wiseau in the same format as Space Ghost Coast to Coast in place of bumps. When it originally aired in 2009 it was rated TV-14-DLSV, but when it re-aired in 2010 the rating was changed to TV-MA. The movie last aired in its entirety was on April 1, 2011 without the Space Ghost bumps. On April 1, 2012, only the opening was aired, then it cut to TOM from Toonami.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters2008Film based on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, the first film adaption of an Adult Swim series. Released in theaters on April 13, 2007. Originally aired on Adult Swim on April 1, 2007, before the theatrical release. It is notable that this airing was in fact an April Fools' Day prank. It did indeed air, but it took up only a fraction of the screen (the frame was Picture-in-Picture within the regular programming, only a couple inches big and the audio in reverse). The film aired in full on Adult Swim March 31, 2008.
There has been mention of producing a second film entitled Death Fighter. It was mentioned that there is a possibility that the film might be made in 3-D.[36]
