- Bobby Doerr, at 97, is the oldest living member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He gained induction in 1986. Doerr is also the last man alive who played in the major leagues during the 1930s.
- Dave Garcia, at 94, is the oldest living major league manager; he managed the California Angels (1977-78) and the Cleveland Indians (1979-82).
- Alex Monchak, at 98, is the oldest living major league coach; he coached with the Chicago White Sox (1971–75), Oakland Athletics (1976), Pittsburgh Pirates (1977–84) and Atlanta Braves (1986–88).
- Red Hoff, a pitcher for the New York Yankees and St. Louis Browns, is the longest-lived major leaguer. He died in 1998, aged 107 years, 132 days.
- Silas Simmons, who played in the Negro leagues, is believed to be the longest-lived baseball player in history. His year of birth is disputed, but he was at least 109 and possibly 111 at the time of his death in 2006.
