Debuts within Top 10
- The first song to debut at the top spot was Cher's Believe which held the top spot for only 1 week being dethroned by Blackstreet's Take Me There
- The week of January 17 saw Brandy's Have You Ever debut at number 7 going straight to number 1 three weeks later
- The next top 10 debut was on the week of February 7 by B*Witched with their single To You I Belong unfortunately not reaching number 1 at any time
- February 14 saw Baby One More Time by Britney Spears debut at number 9 only to claim the top spot the next week holding the top stop for 2 weeks but returning to the top spot 3 weeks later
- 21 February saw 2pac's Changes debut at number 7 but not able to crack the top spot
- Jennifer Love Hewitt's single How Do i Deal took the highest debut of the week at number 7
- 14 March saw Silverchair's Anthem For The Year 2000 debut at number 8 still not strong enough to claim the top spot
- The week of March 21 Saw 2 debuts within the top 5 with Steps’ song Tragedy/Heartbeat and Savage Garden's The Animal Song debut at the number 2 and 3 positions respectively
