Research In Motion Limited (“RIM”) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) and Chalk Media Corp. (“Chalk”) (TSXV: CKM) today announced that the two companies have entered into an arrangement agreement (the “Arrangement Agreement”) for RIM to acquire Chalk, a publicly held company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, in an all-cash transaction at a price per share of CDN $0.142, or CDN $23,125,000.

Research in Motion said Friday that it had signed a deal with Harman International to acquire its QNX Software Systems unit to help tie its BlackBerry smartphones to car navigation systems.
Terms of the deal were not announced. It is expected to close within 30 to 45 days if it passes regulatory approvals.
