This is a list of fictional towns, villages and cities in video games organized alphabetically. This list should include only well-referenced, notable examples that are integral to the storyline of a video game.

Columbia BioShock Infinite Irrational Games 2K Games Columbia, a fictional floating city, uses balloons to float through the sky.

Kakariko Village The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Nintendo EAD Nintendo Kakariko Village (カカリコ村 Kakariko-mura) is a fictional village of The Legend of Zelda Series that appears in A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Four Swords Adventures and Twilight Princess. Kakariko is often portrayed as a prosperous small town.
Las Venturas Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Rockstar North Rockstar Games & Capcom (Japan) Las Venturas is a fictional city in San Andreas: Grand Theft Auto based on Las Vegas, Nevada. Many real Las Vegas Strip casinos are faithfully interpreted on Las Venturas' Strip. Other landmarks include a replica of the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign and interpretations of Vegas Vic and Vicki as Vice City characters Avery Carrington and Candy Suxxx.[1] Suites in several of the hotels are available for purchase. In addition, Las Venturas features a large surrounding desert region, residential areas, and strip malls, as well as a seedy area (Old Venturas Strip) with several strip clubs and gambling parlors based on Las Vegas Downtown.
Liberty City Grand Theft Auto Rockstar North Rockstar Games & Capcom (Japan) Liberty City is a city based primarily on New York City, that appears in several games, and has three different renditions.

In first game, the city's geography and alignment of districts in the game are much more reminiscent of New York City, featuring two major mainlands with a Manhattan-like central island (which contains a large park at the center, a reference to Central Park), and several smaller islands along a river of the city, with the mainlands and islands connected primarily by road bridges. Neighboring New Jersey and surrounding boroughs in New York City are also spoofed, the former described as being in a separate state of its own.

Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto III's rendition is loosely based on New York City, but includes elements of other American cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, among others. It is divided into three boroughs, comprising 25 defined districts and neighborhoods, and the outskirts of the city. The three boroughs are Portland (Brooklyn and Queens), Staunton Island (Manhattan), and Shoreside Vale (New Jersey).

Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto IV's rendition has more detail and personality, with many places which are based on landmarks in New York.This rendition of Liberty City has versions of four of the five boroughs of New York City, plus New Jersey. Brooklyn is Broker, Queens is Dukes, Manhattan is Algonquin, and Bronx is Bohan. The state and city of New Jersey is Alderney, which technically is separate from Liberty City.

Los Santos Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Rockstar North Rockstar Games & Capcom (Japan) Like its counterpart of Los Angeles, Los Santos comprises several diverse areas. The urban area of Los Santos holds a population comparable to Los Angeles. Los Santos features several interpretations of many of Los Angeles' districts, landmarks, and neighborhoods, including Compton (Ganton), Willowbrook (Willowfield), Watts (Jefferson), Inglewood (Idlewood), East Los Angeles (East Los Santos), MacArthur Park (Glen Park), Downtown Los Angeles (Downtown Los Santos), Beverly Hills (Rodeo), Mulholland Drive (Mulholland), Santa Monica (Santa Maria Beach), Venice Beach (Verona Beach), Hollywood (Vinewood) and its Hollywood Sign (Vinewood Sign).


Los Santos is also part of the setting for Grand Theft Auto V. The new rendition of the city is now much more detailed, larger, and looks more alive than ever before. The city can be divided into four big sections: North, East, West and South Los Santos, in which beneath the sections, the streets are divided into districts. There are two incorporated cities in Los Santos: Davis, Del Perro.

Dunwall Dishonored Arkane Studios, Bethesda Softworks Dunwall is a fictional coastal city and capitol of The Empire of The Isles, located on the island of Gristol. The city, as portrayed in the storyline of Dishonored, is a hotbed of potential chaos due to the emergence of a deadly plague. The city is blockaded from the rest of the Empire and, depending on the actions the PC takes during the course of the narrative, will either survive the plague or be consumed thereby.
Raccoon City Resident Evil 2 Capcom Capcom Raccoon City is a fictional city in an undetermined location in the mid-western United States, located at the southern foot of the Arklay mountain range, with a population of over 100,000 as of mid-1998. Its economy was dominated by the Umbrella Corporation, whose experiments in creating bio-weapons lead to the city's destruction after an outbreak of their T-Virus infected the entire population. The US Government eventually responded with a nuclear strike, wiping out the town and its zombified inhabitants.
Rapture Bioshock 2K Boston, Digital Extremes, Feral Interactive & Demiurge Studios 2K Games & Feral Interactive Rapture is an underwater city that is the setting for the games BioShock and BioShock 2. The game's back-story describes the city as envisioned by business tycoon Andrew Ryan in the mid-1940s as a means to create a utopia for mankind's greatest thinkers to prosper in a laissez-faire environment outside of increasing oppression by the worlds' governments. However, these ideals would not hold up, turning into a dystopia, and on the eve of 1959, a class war broke out, leaving much of Rapture's population dead. The remaining citizens either become psychotic "Splicers" due to the effects of ADAM, a substance that can alter genetic material, or have barricaded themselves from the Splicers to protect themselves, leaving the city to fail and fall apart around them.
San Fierro Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Rockstar North Rockstar Games & Capcom (Japan) Like its counterpart of San Francisco, San Fierro is built on a peninsula. It is characterized by a prominent cable car system and hilly terrain. San Fierro features several interpretations of many of San Francisco's districts and landmarks, including the Haight-Ashbury district (Hashbury), the Castro district (Queens), Chinatown, and the Golden Gate Bridge (Gant Bridge). Several other familiar landmarks have been recreated, from the Embarcadero Ferry Building, and the Transamerica Pyramid (Big Pointy Building) to Lombard Street (Windy Windy Windy Windy Street), alongside Edinburgh's Forth Rail Bridge (Kincaid Bridge)[2] and Forth Road Bridge (Garver Bridge), symbolising Rockstar North's Lothian heritage. San Fierro's City Hall closely resembles San Francisco's ornate city hall. San Fierro also contains remains of the Cypress Street Viaduct which collapsed in 1989 during the Loma Prieta earthquake. A naval base near the city's airport also has an amphibious assault ship and submarine docked in the bay.
Silent Hill Silent Hill Konami Konami Silent Hill is a fictional New England town. It lies on the northern, eastern and southern shores of Toluca Lake (the unincorporated town of Shepherd's Glen lies on the western shore). The town was once a mining community, coal and iron, but switched to tourism after the mines were shut down. Due to the actions of the evil cult which founded the town, the barriers between the real world and a world of nightmares made manifest are razor thin.

Vice City Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Rockstar North Rockstar Games & Capcom (Japan) Vice City is a fictional city based on Miami, Florida in 1985. The city was divided into two islands: there is Vice Beach, where the player begins the game. the island has six districts, including the Ocean Beach, Washington Beach, Vice Point, Starfish Island, Prawn Island, and Leaf Link Golf Course. The second part of Vice city is The main island. the island has five district including, Little Havana, Little Haiti, Downtown, Escobar International Airport, and Vice Port.
Pallet Town Pokémon Red and Green Game Freak Nintendo Pallet Town (マサラタウン Masara Town) is a fictional town located in western region of Kanto in the pokémon universe. It based on Machida, Tokyo, Satoshi Tajiri's hometown although its map location correlates better with some place in Shizuoka Prefecture. The town only has two entrances, north via Route 1 to Viridian City and Route 21 south accessible through water only.
Isenstadt Wolfenstein Raven Software, iD Software, Endrant Studios, Blur Studios Activision Isenstadt is stated to be in Germany, but not which part of it. It contains a large downtown section, an equally large midtown section, a hospital, a massive church, an airfield, a cannery, a train station, a garment mill, a warehouse, and a tavern called the Raven's Nest. The town is the only place on Earth where Nachtsonnne crystals can be found. Isenstadt is also built over the ruins of the ancient Thule Civilization, which mastered control of the Veil, a barrier dimension between our dimension and the mysterious Black Sun dimension. The SS sets up a massive operation in the city, conducting crystal mines and artificial production facilities, archaeological digs, biological experiments, occult rituals, and weapons development. The townspeople revolt and form the Kreisau Circle. Also, a Russian occult group called the Golden Dawn arrives to hinder the German Army's efforts. On a side note, the spelling of Isenstadt indicates that the German pronunciation would be 'ee-zen-shtaht', but every character in the game pronounces it 'eye-zen-shtat.'
