24 January 2011 7:45 local Near Karakul 0 6.1 A strong 6.1-magnitude earthquake was centered about 90 kilometers (55 miles) southwest of Karakul, but there were no reports of damage or casualties. [1]
13 May 2012 4:28 local Districts of Republican Subordination 38.658 70.414 1 5.7 A moderate earthquake struck southwest of the town of Obikhingou, about 140 kilometers (86 miles) west of Dushanbe. At least one man was killed in a nearby village when a wall collapsed. Several other buildings were destroyed, burying at least 20 livestock. A landslide triggered by the earthquake destroyed two buildings and supporting buildings. Also felt across the border in northern Afghanistan and in eastern Uzbekistan. [2]
