- A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck Hebei Province, China on January 26 at an unknown depth. At least 1 death and 1 injury was reported. Many homes were destroyed at Yuxian. [4]
- A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck Osh Province, Kyrgyzstan on February 18 at a depth of 0.0km. [5] 90 people were killed and many homes were destroyed or damaged. A massive landslide appears to have contributed to the destruction and death toll. [6]
