- A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Quetzaltenango Department, Guatemala on January 18th at an unknown depth. There was some homes damaged or destroyed in the region.[5]

- A magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck in the Moro Gulf, Mindanao, Philippines on August 21st at an unknown depth. The earthquake caused many deaths (at least 101) and heavy damage. Many aftershocks followed some strong in their own right.[28]
