The cotingas (Cotingidae) are a clade of suboscines bird species of neotropical distribution in South America and Central America. The group have more than 60 living species and is related to the lineages in the clade Tyrannides (Furnariidae, Thamnophilidae, Formicariidae, Rhinocryptidae, Conopophagidae, Tyrannidae, Tityridae and Pipridae.[1][2]
