First performed at a solo concert in La Scala on October 29, 1813. The audience was so impressed that has requested a repeat.[3] Jean Schneitzhoeffer was so inspired by Paganini's performance that repelled Le Streghe in the scene of the Madge's witchcraft which opens Act II of his ballet La Sylphide (1832).[4]
