Saeed_ajmal
Saeed Ajmal is the highest wicket-taker in T20I cricket.

Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket is played between international cricket teams who are either Full Members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) or the top six Associate and Affiliate members,[1] as well as Nepal and the Netherlands.[2] Unlike Test matches, T20Is consist of one innings per team, each limited to 20 overs. The first T20I was played between New Zealand and Australia on 17 February 2005;[3] since then there have been over 400 T20Is played by 17 teams. The frequency of matches has steadily increased, partly because of the increase in the number of T20I-playing countries, and partly as the cricket boards of those nations seek to maximise their revenue.[4]

The most successful team in T20I cricket, in terms of win percentage is Sri Lanka (63.84%).[5]The least successful is Zimbabwe (20.96%).[6]

Cricket is, by its nature, capable of generating large numbers of records and statistics. Records and statistics are kept for individual players and teams across the three disciplines of batting, bowling, and fielding. Some of these lists are aggregate in nature. The trend of countries to increase the number of T20I matches they play means that these aggregate lists are dominated by modern players. Examples of such lists include the most career runs, most career wickets taken, most dismissals by a wicketkeeper, and most catches taken. Other, non-aggregate records, include most runs scored in an over, highest career strike rate, and most consecutive wins and defeats.

  • If the qualification is removed, there are 14 innings that have scores lower than the 39 scored by the Netherlands. Six of those innings were 0/0 (0 overs), of which four came in matches abandoned with a toss and two were in no results.[11]
  • The lowest innings total that a team has scored in a loss is 29/1 by Zimbabwe. Batting second, Zimbabwe were chasing a total of 174 which was set by Sri Lanka. After 5 overs were completed in Zimbabwe's innings, rain interrupted play with Zimbabwe at 29/1. With no further play possible, the par score was calculated and Zimbabwe were adjudged to be short by 14 runs.[12]
  • The lowest innings total that a team has scored in a win is 36/1 by New Zealand against Zimbabwe. Batting second, New Zealand were chasing a total of 85 when after 8.1 overs were completed, rain prevented any further play from occurring. The par score was calculated and New Zealand were adjudged to be ahead by 7 runs.[13]
  • The lowest innings total that a team has scored after batting 20 overs is 70 by Bermuda against Canada. Canada went on to win the match by 8 wickets.[14]
