List of The Legend of Sword and Fairy 2 characters

The following is a list of characters from the action role-playing game The Legend of Sword and Fairy 2 developed by the Taiwanese company Softstar Entertainment.

Wang Xiaohu

Wang Xiaohu (Chinese: 王小虎; pinyin: Wáng Xiáohǔ) is a youth who lives in the same fishing village in Yuhang County as Li Xiaoyao. When he was still a child, he was impressed by the story of how Li braved danger to find a cure for his ill aunt, and has since looked up to Li as an idol. Although he does not have an opportunity to learn from Li, he still hopes to become a great hero one day.

Since the age of 10, Wang has been learning martial arts from Li's aunt and has built a strong foundation for learning more advanced skills later. When he turned 14, he moved to Hangzhou and learns the 'Demonic Saber Skill' and inherits his master's Demon Blade later.

At the age of 18, he leaves the village and embarks on his adventure. Wang is morally upright, honest and willing to take responsible for his own actions. However, his strong commitment to righteousness may overshadow his ability to actually fight villains who are more powerful than him.

Li Yiru

Li Yiru (traditional Chinese: 李憶如; simplified Chinese: 李忆如; pinyin: Lǐ Yìrú) is the daughter of Li Xiaoyao and Zhao Ling'er, and a descendant of the goddess Nüwa. At the age of eight, she is the youngest of the four protagonists. She was raised by her father's aunt on the island where her mother used to live. Her mother died when she was still an infant and she rarely gets to meet her father.

Li is straightforward, curious and naive. She is mischievous and well-liked by those around her. As she has never interacted with the outside world before, she imagines it to be a place of fun and believes that all people are inherently good. She inherits the magical abilities from her bloodline, but as she is still young, her powers are not fully mature yet. She meets Wang Xiaohu and joins him on his adventure.

Su Mei

Su Mei (traditional Chinese: 蘇媚; simplified Chinese: 苏媚; pinyin: Sū Mèi) is the daughter of Su Qing, a serpent demon of the Divine Serpent clan. Her mother was a vixen demon from the Snowy Fox clan. She inherits her parents' good looks and appears as an unearthly beauty in human form. Her mother was a divine maiden from the Huaiyue Cult and had violated the cult's rules when she eloped with Su Qing. The cult's leader sent Mu Ran to hunt down the lovers and kill them. Mu Ran had a crush on Su Qing, but was rejected by him and she became extremely jealous of the lovers and she vowed to kill them. However, Su Mei's parents were already killed by Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru before she could do so.

Su, then a baby vixen, was rescued by the leader of the Xiuluo Sect, a friend of her father. In the meantime, Mu Ran has cooled down and she realised that the infant Su is innocent. She manages to find the Xiuluo Sect's leader and persuade him to allow her to take care of Su. When Su grows up, Mu Ran breaks the truth to her and commits suicide in anguish and guilt. Su harbours an intense hatred towards Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru, and seeks to kill them to avenge her parents. She meets the other protagonists and joins them in their adventure. Gradually over time, she begins to understand the meaning of forgiveness and decides to give up on avenging her parents.

Like Li Yiru, Su is straightforward, sociable and speaks her mind. However, she also appears brash, arrogant and ruthless at times.

Shen Qishuang

Shen Qishuang (Chinese: 沈欺霜; pinyin: Shěn Qīshuāng) is the daughter of Shen Qingfeng, the leader of the north wulin (martial artists' community). She used to be known as "Qiqi" (七七) in her childhood.

Shen first met a 14 year-old Wang Xiaohu at her mother's grave in the outskirts of Hangzhou. She was crying when Wang approached her and comforted her. They developed a close friendship and parted ways later. Shen was sent to Mount Emei to study under the tutelage of Abbess Qingrou of the Xianxia Sect (仙霞派), and she becomes one of Qingrou's five great apprentices. She meets Wang again four years later and joins him in his adventures.

In contrast with the other two female protagonists, Shen is shy and introverted. She is gentle and understanding, having been under grown up under the strict guidance of her father and teacher. She appears to have a weak and soft character, but is actually strong and resilient inside.
