List of The Dream Makers episodes

The Dream Makers (simplified Chinese: 志在四方) is a Singaporean television drama series. It stars Zoe Tay, Chen Liping, Rui En, Jeanette Aw, Chen Hanwei and Qi Yuwu as the main characters in the story. It is also the first drama to celebrate 50 years of television. The story revolves around the lives of employees in a TV station, giving viewers a peek into what is behind the scenes in the entertainment world.

It was broadcast on MediaCorp Channel 8 from 24 June 2013 to 2 August 2013,[1] and a total of 30 episodes were aired during this period.

Television Variety head Zhou Wei Yun and Drama Queen Zhu Kang Li are frenemies, vying to top the viewership charts. Newbie Zhao Fei Er receives a role with many lines for the first time and is excited but yet confused. Her boyfriend, Jason Lam, encourages her to settle her mixed feelings. ‘Ah Jie’ Xie Liu Xin gets injured during the course of filming. Zhu Kang Li changes the script, allowing Fei Er more opportunities to perform.
2"Episode Two"June 25, 2013 PG3h PSI: 59, 24h PSI: 52 - 59
As Liu Xin is hurt, Fei Er and the other female artistes are called at the last minute to go on variety show “True Words”. Every female artiste dolls herself up, except Fei Er who chooses to dress plainly and wears a pair of torn heels. The host Yu Fan incites that she is using cunning ways to attract attention. However, the audience believes that Fei Er did not lie to them.
3"Episode Three"June 26, 2013 PG3h PSI: 58, 24h PSI: 53 - 59
Wei Yun heads to the hospital to visit Liu Xin and runs into Kang Li on the way. Du Zhan Peng, Senior VP of Artiste Management, is dissatisfied that Kang Li disregards artiste’s welfare to meet the production schedule. Kang Li talks her way out of it and even puts in a few good words on behalf of Wei Yun to appease Zhan Peng. Later, Zhan Peng thanks the two television heads for helping to put up a good show with him to pacify Liu Xin.

Fei Er and Liu Xin are arranged to attend a variety programme “True Words”, Kang Li is direct about wanting to promote Liu Xin. Zhan Peng also hints to Fei Er not to attempt to steal the limelight, and Fei Er understands her place. During fitting of clothes, Liu Xin steps on Fei Er on purpose and gives her a stern warning. Fei Er takes the opportunity to reveal her family background to a reporter.
5"Episode Five"June 28, 2013 PG3h PSI: 57, 24h PSI: 49 - 56
Wei Yun is given a tight slap by Zhi Ming’s wife in public. The woman, Shan Shan, accuses Wei Yun of being the third party, much to Wei Yun’s disbelief. Zhi Ming explains that his father-in-law is Hong Kong’s triad boss and he had no inkling of this before he married Shan Shan. He has been living in fear ever since marrying Shan Shan, and have been unable to divorce her. Wei Yun finds that the whole thing is a joke. She breaks up with Zhi Ming.
6"Episode Six"July 1, 2013 PG3h PSI: 28, 24h PSI: 34 - 48
The drama team decides to let Fei Er join a new drama as the second lead, but she have to shave her head bald. Zhan Peng describes the situation for her, and Fei Er is convinced to take up the role. At the press conference, the female lead Liu Xin tries to bully Fei Er again, but Fei Er avoids her. This angers Liu Xin even more.
7"Episode Seven"July 2, 2013 PG24h PSI: 31 - 38
Director Lawrence troubles Fei Er on purpose. He wants to shoot Fei Er, but insists that her clothes are dirty, making her rush back to the office to remove her makeup and change clothes before coming back. Fei Er misses the bus, but bumps into Gao Jian who offers her a lift. Fei Er pukes in Gao Jian’s car. Gao Jian is not only upset, but also takes good care of her.
8"Episode Eight"July 3, 2013 PG24h PSI: 27 - 36
Wei Yun returns from her break to be mocked at by people at the airport. Yu Fan escorts her away. Wei Yun tells Yu Fan that she had broken up with Zhi Ming as she does not like such ambiguous relationships, and suspects that Zhi Ming’s wife had sent people to ridicule her. Yu Fan tells Wei Yun that he will call the police should such a thing happen again.
9"Episode Nine"July 4, 2013 PG24h PSI: 30 - 39
The scene of Wei Yun being ridiculed and hugging Yu Fan is splashed all over the news. Tong Lin from the variety team feels unjust for Wei Yun, and encourages her. Yu Fan tells his colleagues that he and Wei Yun are just very good friends and pleads for everyone not to believe the false reports.
10"Episode Ten"July 5, 2013 PG24h PSI: 20 - 26
Fei Er makes the headlines for slapping Ah Jie Liu Xin. Fei Er visits her grandfather in the hospital, and bumps into Gao Jian, explaining that she did not intend to harm Liu Xin and that she was the one who asked her to slap her hard. Gao Jian feels that Fei Er is a simplethon and was left with a good impression of her. He gets her grandfather upgraded to a personal suite and even showers her with makeup products as gifts.
11"Episode Eleven"July 8, 2013 PG
Liu Xin schemes to get Fei Er injured during filming. Liu Xin is asked to go on a long leave after hitting someone. The absence of both female leads forces the production team to amend the script. In order to save time, Jason suggests that Liu Xin’s character is killed in a car accident and Fei Er’s character to not shave her head. Kang Li accepts his recommendation.
12"Episode Twelve"July 9, 2013 PG
Tong Lin’s hosting skills are recognized and commended by the public. Wei Yun encourages her to switch to hosting. Tong Lin is put in a dilemma as she feels that she is not cut out for hosting. In her frenzy, she bumps into Yu Fan’s car. Yu Fan enlightens her and Tong Lin finally decides to accept Wei Yun’s suggestion.
13"Episode Thirteen"July 10, 2013 PG
Tong Lin is nervous about the second day’s filming. Yuan Ren rehearses the show with her but she is still unable to perform. To avoid the recording, Tong Lin feigns sickness. Yuan Ren seeks Zhan Peng’s help, and both of them drags Tong Lin out of her room. Zhan Peng presents Tong Lin with a heart-shaped ornament to bring her luck in her recording.
14"Episode Fourteen"July 11, 2013 PG
It's Fei Er's Birthday. Jason bought a motorcycle for her, but she is neither impressed nor happy with the presents at all. On the contrary, Gao Jian throws a romantic dinner and gives a car to Fei Er. She had second thoughts about being together with Jason after Gao Jian asked her to be his girlfriend. Meanwhile, Zhan Peng professes his love to Tong Lin, but she feels awkward. Tong Lin admits that she likes Jason, but felt that she can never be with him. Zhan Peng hopes that Tong Lin gives him a chance to let her feel what it’s like to be loved. After much consideration, Tong Lin decides to put down her crush for Jason and give Zhan Peng a chance.
15"Episode Fifteen"July 12, 2013 PG
Wei Yun and Tong Lin arrive at the set of “Heartfelt Words”, Wei Yun discovers that Yu Fan is feeling down. Someone delivers a package to Yu Fan. It turns out to be a pig’s heart, and a doll screaming “You Murderer”. Everyone is shocked. Wei Yun tries to cover up for Yu Fan by saying that it was just a silly prank by a fan, but no one is convinced. At the same time, Tonglin disapproves of his brother's doing and threatened to cut all ties with her brother.

Kang Li finds a receipt of a bar in Jian Guo’s bag and becomes highly suspicious of him. She dumps Jian Guo’s clothes and innocently tells him of her decision to stay with the company as she is getting a promotion.
17"Episode Seventeen"July 16, 2013 PG
Tonglin realizes that she had accidentally thrown her favorite quilt away. Seeing her in a frenzy, Zhan Peng volunteers his help, but ends up getting Jason to help Tong Lin as he has to rush back to work for an urgent meeting. Jason was not bothered by the filth, and even helped Tong Lin to mend the torn patch and dry-cleaned it for her. Tong Lin mistakes all these to be Zhan Peng’s deeds.
18"Episode Eighteen"July 17, 2013 PG
Zhi Ming is uncontactable. Wei Yun flies to Shanghai and Hong Kong to look for him, but to no avail. Yu Fan suspects that Zhi Ming wants to break up with Wei Yun, but Wei Yun disbelieves Yu Fan. Wei Yun feels uncomfortable and goes to see a doctor, and discovers that she is pregnant. She is in a dilemma if she should abort the baby or not. Yu Fan tells Wei Yun a little secret.
19"Episode Nineteen"July 18, 2013 PG
Kang Li finds a butterfly shoe clip in Jian Guo’s car. She is certain that it belongs to Lisa. Kang Li deliberately gets Lisa to give the couple a treat, and Lisa agrees without hesitation. Kang Li invites Jian Guo’s parents along and exposes Lisa in front of them causing Lisa much embarrassment.
20"Episode Twenty"July 19, 2013 PG
Tong Lin crosses over to the drama department to act alongside Fei Er. Fei Er chooses a role that enables her to perform. Kang Li reminds Fei Er that Tong Lin’s role is more likeable and has a better imaging. Fei Er does not believe her, but regrets her decision when she sees that Tong Lin’s imaging is indeed nicer than hers. Fei Er requests to swop roles at the last minute.
21"Episode Twenty-one"July 22, 2013 PG
Kang Li and Jian Guo decides to divorce. Kang Li puts up a brave front and invites Jian Guo and Yu Fan to celebrate. Wei Yun tags along explains that Yu Fan had told everything to her. Kang Li felt the irony that she is celebrating her freedom with her frenemy.
22"Episode Twenty-two"July 23, 2013 PG
Fei Er feels that Jason has been polite but distant from her since his return from China. Fei Er tells Tong Lin that Jason still grudges about their breakup. Jason overheard their conversation as Tong Lin forgot to turn off the microphone.
23"Episode Twenty-three"July 24, 2013 PG
A sponsor wants Tong Lin to replace Fei Er for an endorsement. Zhan Peng helps Fei Er fight for the endorsement but to no avail. Upon hearing the news, Fei Er appears calm, but is actually upset about the news. She reports to the Managing Director that Zhan Peng is biased toward his girlfriend Tong Lin. Fei Er also plants Yun Zhi by Tong Lin’s side to sabotage her.
24"Episode Twenty-four"July 25, 2013 PG
In order to sabotage Tong Lin, Yun Zhi deliberately makes Tong Lin miss her shoot for an endorsement and get into big trouble. Yun Zhi is touched by Tong Lin’s sincerity and kindness when Tong Lin bears all responsibility. She tells Fei Er that she does not want to harm Tong Lin anymore. Tong Lin overhears the conversation and is extremely disappointed in Fei Er.
25"Episode Twenty-five"July 26, 2013 PG
Yu Fan is touched to find out that Wei Yun has been taking care of her mother who has dementia and even gave her brother money to open a shop. He tells Wei Yun that he hopes to help take care of her and be the father of her child. Wei Yun is touched and accepts Yu Fan’s love.
26"Episode Twenty-six"July 29, 2013 PG
Jason is unusually glib with his tongue. He showers Kang Li with flattery, speaks ill of producer Qin, and eagerly claims credit in order to become the producer. Tong Lin realizes that Jason knows about her falling out with Fei Er but did not express concern. She is disappointed at what he has become.
27"Episode Twenty-seven"July 30, 2013 PG
Kang Li tells Zhan Peng that her divorce has to do with Lisa. Zhan Peng is shocked and cancels his date with Lisa. He tells Lisa that they are worlds apart in terms of thinking, and will not be happy together. Lisa is disappointed that Zhan Peng and his mother think lowly of her.
28"Episode Twenty-eight"July 31, 2013 PG
After Fei Er and Gao Jian break off, the economy gradually sinks into a depression. Fei Er receives a call from Gao Jian’s mother asking her to move out of his apartment before a stipulated date. Fei Er puts down her pride and asks Gao Jian for a reconciliation. Gao Jian rejects her and even makes snide remarks at her for being fame hungry.
29"Episode Twenty-nine"August 1, 2013 PG
Jason is given an opportunity to go overseas to work, but is hesitant as he cannot bear to leave Tong Lin behind. Tong Lin encourages him to take on the job and tells him that she will wait for him. They bump into a drunken Fei Er while having a meal outside. Jason sends Fei Er home. Tong Lin’s heart sinks when she sees that Jason still cares deeply for Fei Er.
30"Episode Thirty (Finale)"August 2, 2013 PG
Tong Lin hopes that Jason will accept the job overseas and think carefully about their relationship. She tells Jason that she will wait for him, but if he chooses to go back to Fei Er, she will still wish them well. Who will Jason choose?
