List of Rhythm Heaven Rhythm Games

These are a list of all of the rhythm games that appear in Rhythm Heaven, also known as Rhythm Paradise in Europe and Rhythm Tengoku Gold (リズム天国ゴールド Rizumu Tengoku Gōrudo) in Japan.

Column 1

Built to Scale

Built to Scale is the first game the player plays. It is deviated by Rhythm Tengoku's Polyrhythm rhythm game. It is a 3D cell shaded game that takes place in a green factory, where the player will be assembling 3-part widgets. There will be two square nuts that roll to the "Do Re Mi Fa So" beat that, at "So", will align. The player must shoot (or flick) a rod at the right time. Two thirds of the way in, the factory will go dark, leaving only a small spotlight around the area where the widget is made. The game becomes increasingly difficult here, and, while it's still possible to see the squares align, the player is forced to use their rhythm sense and audio to succeed.

Glee Club

Glee Club is a line-art game that revolves around three boys, the Chorus Kids. The player is the third one on the right. Each of the three much sing in syncopation in this chorus. The first one, the left one, will sing a note, then the second one in the middle will imitate the first. Then the player must imitate the first one in the exact way the second one did. Automatically, the third chorus kid will be releasing a continuous note. To stop singing, the player must tap and hold. To sing, simply release. There will be times the conductor will say "Together now", and at that point, the player must wail (flick) at the exact timing the other two do.

Fillbots

Fillbots is a game where the player has to fuel robots to make them function. Inside of a factory with a nozzle in the top center of the screen, when a robot passes under the nozzle, the player must tap and hold. If it's a normal robot, the nozzle must be held for 4 beats. If it's a big robot, the nozzle must be held for 8 beats. The player must release at the right time or the robots will either explode or fail to function.

Fan Club

Fan Club revolves around a pop singer that performs while her monkey fan club cheers her on. The player takes control of one of the monkeys, the one at the far right. The player must listen for certain phases in the song that serve as cues as to what to do. When the pop singer says a word 3 times in a row (e.g. "Yeah yeah yeah!"), the player must clap (tap the screen) 4 times in a row to the beat. When the pop singer says "I suppose", in 4/8th time, the player must clap, hold for 3 beats, clap 2 times on beats 4 and 5, hold down until beat 6, and then jump (flick) on beat 7.

Remix 1

In Rhythm Heaven, remixes are rhythm games that appear every 5 games. There are 10 of them in Rhythm Heaven. These games combine the previous 4 games in the current column into a song, and, starting from Remix 7, starts throwing in other random games to throw the player off. Remixes will also typically have a "theme" to it, like a tropical theme.

Remix 1 contains Built to Scale, Glee Club, Fillbots, and Fan Club. Glee Club is set in a city, Built to Scale's factory has dance floor tiles, and Fan Club has a yellow theme with purple monkeys. Fillbots does not change.

Column 2

Rhythm Rally

Rhythm Rally is the first game in the second column. It is a 3D game where the player takes control of a blue box-head Paddler, who is playing a game of table tennis with his rival. The rival will serve the ball at either normal speed (two beats long), slow speed (4 beats long), or really fast (one beat long). The game will warn the player of a fast ball with a cowbell sound.

Shoot-Em'-Up

Shoot-Em'-Up is a simon-says game played in first-person view inside of a spaceship. The player is on an important mission to destroy alien spaceships and stop them from invading Earth. A varying number of aliens will appear on the screen one-by-one in a varying rhythm within one measure. In the next measure, the player must imitate this exact rhythm to shoot and destroy each alien spaceship.

Shoot-Em'-Up has an endless game that gets unlocked after earning 7 medals (Superb rankings). The player will receive points for each hit. The player also receives more points if consecutive enemies are hit in a row. There is a lifebar at the right of the screen that'll get depleted if a player misses an alien spaceship, however, it'll gradually refill. If, however, a player misses a hit while the lifebar is empty, the screen will turn red and the game will end.

Blue Birds

Blue Birds is a game where the player takes control of one of three blue birds (the one on the right) and must follow their captain's orders. When the captain says "Peck your beak", the player must tap 3 times in a row. When the captain says "Stretch out your neck", the player must tap, hold, and then flick one beat later. Midway, the top screen will begin showing various pictures of the training the three blue birds have went through, ending with a "To be continued" card.

Moai Doo-Wop

Moai Doo-Wop is another simon-says game, where the player will be a female Moai having a conversation with her male counterpart. The player's moai has to repeat the sounds the male moai makes, either by holding and releasing the stylus to make "doo-wop" sounds, or tapping the touch screen quickly to make a quick shout sound.

Remix 2

Remix 2 is a tropical-vibed remix. Blue Birds will be set in a beach, the captain will be orange, and the blue birds will be tan. Shoot-Em'-Up will have the player in an oak-wood spaceship shooting down oranges. Moai Doo-Wop has the moai becoming orange and in a sunny island. Finally, Rhythm Rally consists of the paddlers being orange and on a green platform in the sea.

Column 3

Love Lizards

Love Lizards is a game where the player takes control of a female yellow Güiro lizard and tries to win the heart of a male aquamarine lizard. The player can tap and slide the stylus back and forth, and this will make the female lizard rub her tail on her back to make rattly noises. When the player hears the cowbell cue, the player will slide the stylus back and forth to the rhythm 2 times to the male lizard's shaking tail.

Cromp Stomp

Cromp Stomp is a game where the player takes control of "Cromp Stomper". The player stomps (taps) in time to the music, and onions will come out of the ground. The player will have to throw (flick) the onions into a basket when they are in the air. There will also be moles, which work the same way, except the player has to flick in half the time to fling them away. The onions are a callback to Rhythm Tengoku's "Rhythm Datsumou".

Column 7

All games from now on are sequel games.

Built to Scale 2

Built to Scale 2 is the first sequel game. The gameplay remains the same, however, there are more faster patterns the player has to watch out for. The factory is yellow now, and the widgets are red.

Column 9

Glee Club 2

Glee Club 2 is the same as it's prequel. However, the patterns are significantly more complex. The visual style is black and orange now, taking place in a beach during a sunset.

Column 10

Remix 10

Remix 10 is the final remix and final normal rhythm game of the series. It combines all 24 normal games plus Airborder into a single remix. In order, Karate Man, Moai Doo-Wop, Cromp Stomp, Built to Scale, The Dazzles, Love Lab, Love Lizards, Splashdown, Rhythm Rally, Rockers, Blue Birds, Space Soccer, Shoot-Em'-Up, Lockstep, Fan Club, Airboarder, Glee Club, Fillbots, Munchy Monk, Drummer Duel, Frog Hop, Big Rock Finish, Freeze Frame, DJ School, and Dog Ninja. It'll then go back to Karate Man one last time before ending.
