Planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet is a visual novel developed by Key and published by VisualArt's and KineticNovel in 2004. The story centers around a middle-aged man who comes across a malfunctioning robot in a dead city. The man, known simply as "the junker", stays with this robot for a time and attempts to fix the projector of the planetarium where the story takes place. It was adapted by Key Sounds Label into three drama CDs in 2006 and 2007. The second CD contains the insert song "Brave New World" by fripSide. The core of the discography is the original soundtrack album produced by Key Sounds Label in 2006. The music on the soundtrack was mainly composed and arranged by Magome Togoshi.

Planetarian Original Soundtrack

The Planetarian Original Soundtrack, from the visual novel Planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet, was first released on August 11, 2006 in Japan during Comiket 70 by Key Sounds Label bearing the catalog number KSLA-0025.[1][2] The soundtrack contains one disc totaling twelve songs composed, arranged, and produced by Magome Togoshi, and Shinji Orito; themes originally composed by Charles Crozat Converse and Kenji Miyazawa were remixed on the soundtrack. Aside from the songs in the game like "Gentle Jena" and "Hoshi no Sekai (Opening)", the soundtrack includes new songs such as the vocal version of "Hoshi Meguri no Uta", sung by Mell. The musical tracks played at the beginning and the end of the game (tracks one and eight in the original soundtrack) are rearrangements of the hymn "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" by Charles Crozat Converse, and their titles reflect this as well: "Hoshi no Sekai (Opening)" refers to the Japanese version of the hymn, named "Hoshi no Yo", and "Itsukushimi Fukaki" is the Japanese translation of the hymn's original title.

All songs arranged by Magome Togoshi, except where noted.

Drama CDs

A Snow Globe

Planetarian Drama CD "A Snow Globe" is a drama CD based on the Planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet visual novel by Key. It was first released on December 29, 2006 by Key Sounds Label bearing the catalog number KSLA-0027, and was later re-released on May 25, 2007 with a different cover.[1] The CD contains one disc totaling seven audio drama tracks of varying lengths, but are all interconnected into a single story. The CD is an adaptation of the "Snow Globe" story from the limited edition book. The opening track takes place one year before the junker arrives at the planetarium and the "Snow Globe" story is told as a flashback. The end of the drama CD is where the kinetic novel begins.

Jerusalem

Planetarian Drama CD "Jerusalem" is a drama CD based on the Planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet visual novel by Key. It was first released on July 27, 2007 by Key Sounds Label bearing the catalog number KSLA-0029.[1] The CD contains one disc totaling seven audio drama tracks of varying lengths, but are all interconnected into a single story. The CD is an adaptation of the "Jerusalem" story from the limited edition book. Less than half of the last audio track, "Kanenone to Shokuzai to", is the closing piece of the story, and an insert song plays about six minutes in called "Brave New World" by fripSide.

Hoshi no Hito

Planetarian Drama CD "Hoshi no Hito" is a drama CD based on the Planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet visual novel by Key. It was first released on July 27, 2007 by Key Sounds Label bearing the catalog numbers KSLA-0030—0031.[1] The CD contains two discs each with seven audio drama tracks of varying lengths; the tracks on each disc come together to form two separate stories. The CD is an adaptation of the "Hoshi no Hito" and "Tircis and Aminte" stories from the limited edition book. The "Hoshi no Hito" story plays like a regular audio drama with several different voice actors acting out the parts, but "Tircis and Aminte" is just a recited story by Keiko Suzuki, the voice actress who plays Yumemi Hoshino in the visual novel.
