List of Munna Bhai characters

Munna Bhai is an Indian film franchise consisting of 3 feature films. The series feature a gangster named Munna Bhai and his sidekick Circuit and their misadventures.[1][2][3]

Overview (Munnabhai M.B.B.S)

Munna Bhai

A street thug, Murli Prasad Sharma known as Munna Bhai extorts people for ransom and kidnapping soon finds his parents are coming to meet him as Munna lied them that he is a doctor. So Munna takes help of his sidekick Circuit and designs his house as a faux hospital. After learning that Munna and his childhood friend Chinki must get married by his father Hari Prasad Sharma. No sooner Chinki's father reveals Munna as a thug and insults them to which Munna swears vengeance to be a real doctor and marry Chinki. In the sequel Munna falls for a Radio Jockey named Jahnvi. To meet her, Munna kidnaps a group of professors to get help about Mahatma Gandhi. Munna after winning contest, lies Jahnvi that he is a Gandhian professor and Jahnvi invites him to give a speech on Gandhi. Munna, studies the life history of Gandhi and sees a hallucinating imagery of Gandhi who helps Munna to fight difficulties with Gandhigiri (Gandhism) [4][5][6]

Circuit

Munna's sidekick and a best friend. Circuit helps Munna in every situations. Both Munna and circuit speaks in a thick Bambaiya Hindi a dialect originating from Mumbai.

Dr. J. Asthana

Dr. J. Asthana is Hari Prasad Sharma's friend and dean of a Medical Institute. After learning Munna's truth he insults Munna's parents. Asthana has little to no sympathy with patients as he thinks patients are just nothing. Asthana initially gets furious on Munna's antics and find ways to expel him from the college. He controls anger with Laughter therapy.

Chinki / Dr. Suman

Asthana's daughter and a doctor. Depicted as Munna's friend, she eventually mistaken by Munna as Dr Suman and later falls in love with her.

Hari Prasad Sharma

Munna's father, who meets him only to find his son is a gangster. After learning Munna's heroic deeds, he forgives and reconciles with him

Parvati Sharma

Mother of Munna who loves him more than his father. After learning the truth of Munna, she tries to forgive him but Hari angers her to leave him soon. At the end, Munna renconciles with his parents.

Swami

Munna's room inmate and a friend.

Zaheer

A cancer patient, who has limited time to live is helped by Munna and develops his willing to live more. Things take worse turn when Zaheer dies in Munna's arms and the guilt leaves Munna broken.

Lage Raho Munna Bhai

Jahnvi

A radio jockey and Munna's love interest. She lives with her grandfather and runs an old age home called 2nd Innings House. After learning Munna's truth she leaves him, but his deeds as a Gandhian realises his true love for her.

Lucky Singh

A cold blooded businessman, appoints Munna and Circuit to do his illegal works. For the sake of his daughter, Simran he is advised that 2nd Innings House is best home for the couple. Lucky tricks Munna and gets the house keys. Sooner enmity between Munna and Lucky gets tough for house.

Mr. Kkhurana

A superstitious businessman who consults his astrologer Batuk Maharaaj for every task. He senses some doubt whether Lucky is lying or not. Lucky was informed if Simran is maanglik, she and her husband will never live for longer. After learning the truth from Simran, he breaks off wedding but soon Sunny saves the day by marrying her. He has one K after consulted by Batuk.

Simran Singh

Lucky's daughter. Simran loves his father a lot and for her he is Hero. Things takes a worse turn when she discovers she is maanglik and runs away during wedding night. After convinced by Munna, she tells the truth but Kkhurana disagrees her and leaves. But Sunny marries her and it is depicted that Sunny and Simran are happy and safe.

Batuk Maharaaj

The astrologer of Kkhurana. He consults that if Simran is Maanglik, Sunny will die in few years. He also consults Kkhurana that 2nd Innings House is lucky for Simran and Sunny. After revealed as imposter by Munna, Khurana throws out Batuk from his job.
