List of Lupin III chapters

Lupin III is a Japanese manga, written and illustrated by Monkey Punch. It spawned a media franchise that includes 4 more manga series, 4 anime television series, 5 feature films, 3 OVAs, yearly television specials (23 to date), soundtrack CDs, video games, and a musical.

The story follows the adventures of a gang of thieves led by Arsène Lupin III, the grandson of Arsène Lupin, the gentleman thief of Maurice Leblanc's series of novels. Lupin and his gang travel throughout the world to steal treasures and escape from the law.

Lupin III began in Weekly Manga Action, serialized from August 10, 1967 to May 22, 1969. In 1971, Monkey Punch continued the series, referred to as Lupin III: The New Adventures, until April 27, 1972. The original 94 chapters were later combined with the 36 New Adventure ones and published into 14 tankōbon volumes. Tokyopop licensed the series for a North America release in July 2002,^[1] releasing all 14 volumes between January 1, 2003 and July 6, 2004.

A second Lupin manga written by Monkey Punch, titled Shin Lupin III ("New Lupin III"), was published in Weekly Manga Action from June 23, 1977 to May 28, 1981. This series ran for 188 chapters that were collected into 16 tankōbon volumes. Tokyopop also licensed the second series, and released the first 9 volumes under the name Lupin III – World's Most Wanted between September 7, 2004 and July 10, 2007. Tokyopop later chose not to re-license the series due to low sales.

It wasn't until 16 years later that a new Lupin manga was created, Lupin III S ("S" for Shusay) began in January 1997. Monkey Punch only supervised the series, with the story written by Satosumi Takaguchi and illustrated by Shusay. Five stories were published in Weekly Manga Action and 2 Action, then collected by Futabasha into a single volume in June 1998.^[2][3]

Monkey Punch returned to writing Lupin the following year, with Lupin III Y ("Y" for Tamakami), which he wrote while Masatsuki Yamakami illustrated it. The series was serialized in Weekly Manga Action from 1998 to 2003,^[4] with the 80 chapters (each chapter was published in multiple parts) collected into 20 volumes published between May 27, 1999 and August 28, 2004.^[5] This series was resumed in the summer 2009 issue of Lupin III Official Magazine, referred to as Shin Lupin III Y.

The fifth manga series, Lupin III M ("M" for Miyama or Millennium), began in 2004 with story by Monkey Punch and art by Yukio Miyama. It was serialized in the Lupin III Official Magazine, a quarterly magazine published by Futabasha, which contains Lupin news, information on Lupin products and merchandise, and fan art.^[6] The chapters were collected into 8 volumes. Lupin III M Neo began in 2009, and is currently serialized in the Lupin III Official Magazine.

A work titled Lupin III H ("H" for Hayakawa) began in the summer 2009 issue of Lupin III Official Magazine. It is written by Monkey Punch and illustrated by Naoya Hayakawa.
