- Vera King Farris, Kean College Vice President for Academic Affairs before coming the third president of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, serving from 1983 to 2003; former administrator at Kean, Stockton, the State University of New York at Stony Brook, the State University of New York at Brockport, and the University of Michigan; the first African-American president of a New Jersey public college; New Jersey Woman of the Year in 1992 and New Jersey Policymaker of the Year in 1994.
