High School DxD is an anime series adapted from the light novels of the same title written by Ichie Ishibumi and illustrated by Miyama-Zero. Set during the struggle among the devils, fallen angels, and angels, the story follows the adventures of Issei Hyodo, a perverted high school student who is nearly killed by his first date, who is revealed to be a fallen angel. He is revived by Rias Gremory, a crimson-haired school beauty who is actually a devil, and he becomes her servant. The first anime series adapts material from the first two volumes of the light novels, and a few side stories from Volume 8.
Produced by TNK, directed by Tetsuya Yanagisawa and written by Takao Yoshioka, the anime aired on AT-X from January 6 to March 23, 2012, with later broadcast runs on TV Kanagawa, Chiba TV, TV Aichi, Sun Television, Tokyo MX and BS11. Six DVD and Blu-ray compilation volumes were released by Media Factory between March 21, 2012 and August 29, 2012, each containing an OVA short entitled "Release the Swaying Delusions" (妄想爆揺解除オリジナルビデオ Mōsō Bakuyure Kaijo Orijinaru Bideo, lit. "Release the Swaying Delusions Original Video") and other bonus material.[1] An OVA episode (listed as episode 13) was released with the limited edition of the 13th light novel volume on September 6, 2012 on Blu-ray disc,[2] with the script handled by Ichiei Ishibumi, the author of the light novels.[3] Another OVA episode (listed as episode 14), also written by Ishibumi, was bundled with the limited edition release of the 15th light novel in May 31, 2013 on Blu-ray.[4]
A second season of High School DxD, titled High School DxD New (ハイスクールD×D NEW Haisukūru Dī Dī Nyū), was announced at the post-end credits of the 13th episode.[5][6] The season was once again directed by Yanagisawa and animated by TNK, and it aired on AT-X and Chiba TV from July 7 to September 22, 2013. The second season adapts the third and fourth volumes of the light novels and is split between two arcs: The Excalibur of the Moonlit Schoolyard (月光校庭のエクスカリバー Gekkō Kōtei no Ekusukaribā) and The Vampire of the Empty Classroom (停止教室のヴァンパイア Teishi Kyōshitsu no Vanpaia). AT-X airings of both seasons are uncensored, while airings on all other channels are heavily censored. The first DVD and Blu-ray compilations of High School DxD New was released by Media Factory on September 25, 2013, with the sixth and final compilation scheduled for release on February 26, 2014.
In North America, Funimation Entertainment licensed the series for simulcast on their official website.[7] The High School DxD DVD/Blu-ray limited edition box set was released in North America on August 20, 2013.[8] In Australia and New Zealand, the series is licensed by Madman Entertainment.[9]
The official site for the previously announced High School DxD 3rd Season has the title, airing schedule, visual, and PV updated. The title is High School DxD BorN (ハイスクールD×D BorN Haisukūru Dī Dī Bōn), and the anime is scheduled to air in Spring 2015. The information was also announced during Fantasia Bunko Daikanshasai 2014. The series is again be directed by Tetsuya Yanagisawa with series composition by Takao Yoshioka at animation studio TNK. Junji Goto is again designing the characters, and also serves as chief animation director. [10]
The original score for the series was composed by Ryosuke Nakanishi. Ten pieces of theme music are used for the series. The opening theme for the first season, titled "Trip -Innocent of D-", is performed by J-pop group Larval Stage Planning, while the ending theme is "STUDYxSTUDY", by the voice actress unit StylipS, consisting of Arisa Noto, Yui Ogura, Kaori Ishihara, and Maho Matsunaga. The opening theme for the first arc of the second season is titled "Sympathy" and once again performed by Larval Stage Planning and the ending theme is Hōteishiki wa Kotaenai (方程式は答えない)performed by the Occult Research Club Girls (オカルト研究部ガールズ Okaruto Kenkyū-bu Gāruzu), a voice actress unit consisting of Yōko Hikasa, Shizuka Itō, Azumi Asakura and Ayana Taketatsu as their characters Rias, Akeno, Asia and Koneko, respectively. The opening theme for the second arc is "Passionate Argument" (激情論 Gekijō-ron) and performed by Zaq, while the ending theme is {{nihongo|"Lovely♥Devil"|らぶりぃ♥でびる|Raburyi♥Debiru} }performed by the Occult Research Club Girls, also featuring Risa Taneda and Ayane Sakura as their characters Xenovia and Gasper. The opening theme, titled "Bless Your Name" performed by ChouCho while the ending theme is "Give Me Secret" performed once again by StylipS.

| Issei Hyodo is a high school student who is unpopular with girls. One day, while studying at Kuoh Academy, he finds Rias Gremory, the crimson-red haired top idol of the academy, wondering who he is. While dreaming of having a girlfriend, another girl named Yuma Amano shyly asks Issei out to his excitement. After their first date, Yuma asks Issei if he will die for her. Revealing herself as Raynare, a fallen angel, she kills Issei by stabbing him in the abdomen. He sees a vision of Rias, but wakes up the next day intact, assuming the incident to be a dream. However, when Issei is stabbed in the abdomen again, this time by Dohnaseek, Rias intervenes, saying that Issei is her own. The next morning, Issei discovers he and Rias are naked together in bed. | While at Kuoh Academy, the school prince Yuto Kiba leads Issei to the Occult Research Club where he meets the popular "mascot" girl Koneko Toujou and the club's vice-president Akeno Himejima. Rias briefs Issei on the current situation with angels, fallen angels, and devils; and the duties assigned to him. After going to his first assignment which involves an otaku, he encounters another fallen angel, but uses his Sacred Gear to transform his hand into an armored Dragon Arm and defeats her. | Issei befriends a teenage nun Asia Argento but hides his devil identity from her. After Rias warns Issei about the dangers of the Church, the team must deal with a stray devil. Rias briefs Issei on the Evil Pieces system where each member of her team has a certain role similar to chess pieces, where Rias is the king, but Issei is the pawn. Issei's next assignment becomes difficult when he must deal with a ruthless exorcist Freed Sellzen. However, Asia, working for Freed, witnesses the incident and attempts to stop Freed from killing Issei. Rias and the other members rescue Issei but leave Asia behind, to his dismay. | |||||

| While on a date with Asia, Issei finds out her past as an excommunicated nun from the Church. Issei vows to be her friend regardless of being a devil, but they are interrupted by Raynare, who captures Asia. Later, Rias explains a special ability that pawns have: Promotion. She suddenly leaves with Akeno, leaving an ambiguous note about the Church as enemy grounds. Issei remembers Raynare's speech about a ritual with Asia tonight and is determined to rescue her. As Issei heads for the Church, Kiba and Koneko follow him having understood Rias's message. They storm into the sanctuary and defeat Freed, however, Issei finds Asia chained to a cross where Raynare is about to complete her ritual. | |||||

| Raynare removes Asia's sacred gear and puts it into herself, killing Asia. She even releases Asia to Issei, but mentions the price a host pays if their Sacred Gear is removed or destroyed. She is surprised that her superiors were wary of his Sacred Gear as its ability is only able to double the power of its user, especially when Issei is so weak that he is not a threat even with his power doubled. Issei furiously prays to God and Lucifer before the extreme intensity of his emotions unlocks an ability in his Sacred Gear revealing just part of its real potential. In a state of righteous manic rage he is able to use his newfound power to knock out Raynare in a single devastating punch even after she had impaled both of his legs. Rias appears and admonishes Raynare for both underestimating Issei's Sacred Gear and for the, to her, unforgivable act of harming one of her slaves. In a desperate attempt to manipulate him into trusting her again, Raynare changes into her human form and pleads for him to protect her. Sickened by Raynare's behavior and with his heart breaking, Issei has Rias kill Raynare. Following Raynare's death, Rias revives Asia as a bishop. | |||||

| New living arrangements are made for Asia, who has been living in the club's room. Meanwhile, Issei begins a new training regimen with Rias to improve his physical fitness. During training, Issei is surprised to find Asia and her boxes. Rias asked Asia her living preferences and she chose Issei's home. Asia also begins attending school where she is placed in Issei's class. She quickly attracts other classmates including jealousy from Matsuda and Motohama. The following night, Issei is assigned another job and is unable to receive a pact. Issei thinks it over during P.E. class and ends up sleeping in the infirmary along with Rias. Noting Issei's lecherous desires, Rias offers her body to him in exchange for a pact. That night, Rias accompanies him on his next job: helping a foreign exchange student named Susan inside a Samurai outfit to retrieve her notebook. She also requests help to attract her love. After the unusual meet up with her love, Issei successfully completes the job. He tries to get his reward from Rias, but loses when the other members arrive. | Rias decides that it is time for Issei and Asia to have servant familiars. The school's student council visits the club room, and Issei learns that they are another faction of devils. Since only one group is allowed to enter the world of familiars per month, the two groups compete to see who gets to go first. As they compete in a tennis match, what starts as a normal human competitions turns frightful as Rias and Sona use magic to enhance their moves. They end up destroying much of the equipment, leading to a draw. Rias's group later wins in the dodge ball match, allowing them to pick new familiars first. During the search for familiars, they are greeted by Master Familiar Towji. He guides Issei and Asia throughout the forest and shows different creatures they can choose. The group later finds a Sprite Dragon, a familiar difficult to obtain. Suddenly, slime litters the forest and obliterates clothes. Issei wants to make slime as his familiar and uses Asia to protect it. He is knocked out by the Sprite Dragon, who has taken a liking to Asia. In the end, Asia accepts him as a familiar while Rias notes Issei still has ways to go. | |||||

| Issei dreams that he is marrying Rias, which leads him to get in touch with his inner dragon. After school, Issei encounters Asia in the shower, who confesses a desire to have a deeper relationship with Issei. Later, Rias appears in Issei's bedroom that night looking to lose her virginity. However, her attempt is suddenly interrupted by the arrival of Grayfia Lucifuge, the wife and queen of Rias's brother Sir Zechs Lucifer, who initially mocks Issei as a lowborn. At Kuoh Academy, Issei and his group are introduced to Riser Phoenix, a devil who is to be engaged to Rias. When Riser proposes to Rias, she declines. He mocks Issei's dream of having a harem, leading to him having one of her pieces hit Issei in the stomach. In response, the Gremory and the Phoenix clans organize a ratings game. | |||||

| Issei wakes up to find himself passed out in his own bed after the Rating Game. Soon after, Grayfia informs Issei the results of the Rating Game. She gives Issei a magic circle that will allow him to attend the Gremory-Phoenix engagement party with Sir Zechs's message that if Issei wants to do something, then to go in and rescue Rias by force. Upon arriving, Issei crashes the party, but is interrupted when Sir Zechs comes in and offers to host a one-on-one battle between Riser and Issei to liven things up since he found the Rating Game unsatisfying. Riser and Issei engage in fierce duel that ends with him hitting Riser with holy water. Issei discovers what was on the back of the transport circle Grayfia gave him. Sir Zechs discusses his feelings and plans about Rias' forced engagement with Grayfia. Rias, overwhelmed by Issei's feelings and determination, acts on impulse. As a result of the duel between Dragon and Phoenix, some changes are going to occur at Issei's house while Asia and Akeno try to help him deal with the consequences of a choice he made. | |||||

| After a hectic morning, Issei's Dragon arm awakes forcing Issei to have Akeno remove the Dragon Power. While looking through photos, Kiba finds a Holy Sword among the photos of Issei and his friend while playing at that friend's house. Later, while on the way home after Issei completed a contract with his new client, Issei and his friends are ordered to hunt down a Stray Devil at an abandoned factory. The team manages to defeat the Stray Devil. Kiba is oblivious to Rias' questions about Kiba's actions. Kiba reveals to Issei that he plots revenge against the Holy Sword Excalibur. Later at his house, Issei finds out that Kiba was once part of a project called "The Holy Sword Project" being the only survivor of it. On his way back, Kiba witnesses a priest being killed by Freed being further enraged by the Excalibur Freed was wielding, leading to a battle between the two. Meanwhile, two strangers arrive in Issei's town, one of which holds a copy of the photo in Issei's album depicting Issei playing with her. | |||

| Ddraig tells Issei about the "Vanishing Dragon", Albion. Meanwhile on her way to school with Tsubaki, Sona notices the strangers standing outside the school gate and the Holy Sword that one of them is wielding. Later at the Occult Research Club, Issei finds out about the "Holy Sword Project", where he was one of the failed products who fled from his death. Heading home, Issei and Asia find the strangers talking to his mother, and to the latter's surprise, one of them is his childhood friend Irina Shidou. The next day Irina and the other stranger, Xenovia, arrive at the Occult Research Club to tell them that they are to retrieve the stolen Excalibur swords without any intervention from the devils. While leaving, Xenovia realizes that Asia has been condemned as a witch. When Xenovia attempts to kill Asia, Issei angrily challenges the girls to a duel with Kiba following in pursuit. | |||

| Issei and Kiba are overpowered by Xenovia and Irina. Before leaving, Rias asks the two about the Fallen Angel who stole the Excaliburs learning that the one who was responsible was the Fallen Angel Leader, Kokabiel. Back at the Occult Research Club, Kiba leaves the building with extreme frustration over his loss to Xenovia. Issei decides to help Kiba exact his revenge on the Excalibur swords. Coercing Saji into his plans with Koneko's help, the three start to search for Xenovia and Irina, eventually finding them in a street. The trio then form an alliance with the two, helping them to retrieve the Excalibur swords while handing them an Excalibur sword so that Kiba can destroy it. Kiba, touched by Issei and Koneko's action, agrees to accept the help of the two, thanking them for their help. Later at night, Issei meets up with Kiba and the others to start their plan to destroy the Excalibur. Meanwhile, a young man appears beside Issei's client. | |||

| Issei and the others start their operation to search for Freed and the Excalibur, later finding the ex-priest at the abandoned warehouse previously used by Stray Devil Viser. Kiba engages Freed in a one-on-one battle until Issei, Saji and Koneko intervene giving Kiba the advantage. However, Valper Galilei advises Freed to control his Excalibur better, and manages to reverse the situation until the timely arrival of Xenovia and Irina. Valper and Freed flee, forcing Kiba, Xenovia and Irina to chase after the two. However, Rias, Sona, Akeno and Tsubaki intervene and Issei and Saji are punished by their respective masters for taking action without permission. Back at the Hyodo Residence, Asia greets Rias and Issei in a naked apron as Rias decides to change into one as well. The next day, Rias, Akeno and Koneko send their familiars to search for Kiba, Xenovia and Irina throughout the city, finding an injured Irina lying in the outskirts of town. After healing Irina with Asia's help, Tsubaki takes Irina to the Sitri residence for further treatment. Freed then reappears, revealing that he now has four Excalibur swords with him after stealing Irina's Excalibur Mimic. He then introduces his boss, Kokabiel, one of the leaders of the Fallen Angels, to Issei and his friends as Kokabiel reveals his plan to start another Great War using the Excaliburs. Disappointed that Michael only sent grunt exorcists, Kokabiel decides to target the Devils of Kuoh Academy to force the Satans to take action. After the Fallen Angel leader uses a small attack as a diversion, Issei and the others head back to the school in preparation for their upcoming battle with Kokabiel. Meanwhile at Kuoh Academy, Valper and Freed are shown to be inside a magic circle undergoing an unknown ceremony, with Kiba and Xenovia realizing the situation from afar. | |||

| Sona and her team form a barrier surrounding the school while Rias and her team prepare for their battle against Kokabiel, Freed and Valper. The battle begins with Kokabiel summoning several Cerberus demons to battle the Gremory Team, which the Gremory Team successfully defeats with the help of Xenovia. During that time, Valper successfully combines the four Excaliburs while triggering a self-destruct magic circle that will activate in 20 minutes as a stranger looks on from afar. Rias and Akeno then attempt to battle Kokabiel but prove useless against his powers. Meanwhile, Kiba confronts Valper and realizes the truth of the Holy Sword Project. With the help of his friends, Kiba successfully attains his Balance Breaker, and together with Xenovia who summons her Durandal they successfully destroy the Fused Excalibur. After Freed and the Excalibur are defeated, Kiba attempts to kill Valper. Kokabiel mortally wounds him and tells the Occult Research Club that Issei can transfer his power to anyone as Issei prepares to transfer his powers to Rias. | |||

| Issei transfers his boosted powers to Rias, but both Rias and Akeno are overpowered by Kokabiel. Realizing Akeno is the daughter of the Fallen Angel Cadre, Baraqiel, Kokabiel mocks Rias saying that she has a habit of taking in weird people like her brother. Enraged by these insults, Issei plans to attack Kokabiel. Kiba, Xenovia and Koneko attack Kokabiel to buy time for Issei to boost his powers however, but Kokabiel overpowers them. He then reveals that in the previous Great War, both the Four Great Satans and God were killed, much to Xenovia's horror. Despite this, Issei strongly states his dream of becoming a Harem King and attacks Kokabiel, reigniting his friends' fighting spirit. Before the fight can continue, the barrier surrounding the school field is destroyed by the stranger. Naming himself as the White Dragon Emperor Albion, he defeats Kokabiel and negates the self destruct spell on the school, before taking Kokabiel and Freed away from the field. With Kokabiel gone, Sona and her team proceed to fix the school while Kiba vows once more to serve Rias along with her other servants. The next day, Xenovia, now having been reincarnated as a Devil as Rias' Knight, joins the Occult Research Club and reconciles with Asia. Issei later plays a video game with his client, who reveals himself to be Fallen Angel Leader Azazel. | |||

| At the Occult Research Club, Issei informs the group that his client is Azazel much to Rias's dismay. The next day, the Occult Research Club is placed in charge of cleaning the pool, but Issei's Dragon arm acts up again requiring Akeno to suck out the Dragon power. Having cleaned the pool, the Occult Research Club fills it and starts swimming. Rias then attempts to seduce Issei by having him apply sunscreen on her back. Unfortunately, Akeno interrupts and tries to seduce Issei herself, resulting in a battle between the two girls. Fleeing the battle, Issei meets Xenovia who wants to have a child with him but Rias and the other girls intervene. Back at the Occult Research Club, Sir Zechs and Grayfia arrive to greet Rias and her peerage. Sir Zechs reveals that he has come for Rias' class observation day and to investigate the location for the meeting of the three factions. Sir Zechs and Grayfia then head to the Hyoudou Residence to greet Issei's parents and Sir Zechs spends the night in Issei's room. The next day, Rias leaves the Hyoudou Residence early to guide Sir Zechs and Grayfia while Asia goes to Xenovia's apartment leaving Issei to go to school alone. On his way he encounters the stranger he previously encountered, who names himself Vali, the White Dragon Emperor. | |||

| Vali approaches Issei but Kiba and Xenovia intervene; Vali warns them that since they were unable to defeat Kokabiel, they do not have the strength to beat him. Vali asks Issei where he thinks he ranks, in terms of strength, in the Underworld, and tells Issei that he is someone important. Vali then advises Rias to nurture Issei properly before leaving without a fight. Resting at the sickroom after meeting Vali, Issei questions Ddraig on his relationship with Albion; Ddraig explains how the two Heavenly Dragons came to be sealed into their respective Sacred Gears. At Kuoh Academy, Issei is once again put into a comical situation due to Xenovia's lack of common sense. He runs into Rias, Akeno, Sona and Tsubaki discussing the earlier meeting with Vali, and their concern about their upcoming class observation. After finishing their classes, Issei, Rias and Akeno hear some noise about a cosplayer in the gymnasium; heading there, they meet Serafall Leviathan, Sona's older sister and the current Devil King with the title of Leviathan, whose presence and antics embarrass Sona. At the Hyodo Residence, Sir Zechs, Issei's and Rias' fathers enjoy a video of Rias' class observation, but Rias gets embarrassed and leaves the room. Issei invites her to his room and the two share an intimate moment until Asia interrupts them followed by Sir Zechs, who drops by to tell Rias that recent events and the expansion of her peerage have changed his mind about her ability to control her second Bishop thus giving her his permission to unseal him. | |||

| The Occult Research Club unseal the locked door in their club house, revealing a boy wearing a female school uniform whom Rias introduces as Gasper Vladi, who accidentally freezes time when Issei touches him. They learn that Gasper possesses the Sacred Gear, Forbidden Balor View, and was sealed due to his inability to control it. Rias, Akeno and Kiba then leave to help in the preparation for the meeting of the Three Factions, leaving the others to train Gasper. During the training, Azazel suddenly arrives at the school yard and gives Saji, Issei and Gasper advice on how to control Gasper's Sacred Gear before leaving. Issei and the others take Gasper to the gymnasium in an attempt to train him to focus his powers, however Gasper once again goes into seclusion after the training. Issei has a conversation with Gasper, managing to get the boy to open up and talk with him, until Kiba, Koneko, Asia and Xenovia arrive. The next day, Issei goes to the shrine with Akeno and meets another new figure who introduces himself as Michael, the leader of the Angels. | |||

| After meeting Michael, Issei receives the Holy Sword, Ascalon, from the Archangel and proceeds assimilate it into his Boosted Gear and Michael leaves shortly afterwards. After Michael leaves, Issei and Akeno discuss Akeno's fallen angel and human heritage. Issei is unfazed by her fallen angel heritage and so deepen his bonds with Akeno, who gives him a lap pillow until a jealous Rias appears and forces Issei to leave with her. Issei then heads back to the school to help Gasper in his training who improves in controlling his powers. On the day of the conference, Rias and her servants go to the meeting room, leaving Koneko and Gasper behind. At the meeting, they meet Azazel and Vali who are representing the Fallen Angels, Michael who represents the Angels and Sir Zechs and Serafall who are representing the Devils as the Three Factions starts the meeting. Meanwhile, a group of mysterious people approaches Gasper and Koneko who are standing by at the Occult Research Clubroom. | |||

| During the meeting between the leaders of the Three Factions, Azazel asks both Issei and Vali their opinions about the peace treaty. Issei then asks Michael why Asia was exiled and is told of the current situation in Heaven and both Asia and Xenovia reveal that they are happy with their current lifestyle. Azazel then comments about his subordinate who killed Asia to Issei's irritation. Suddenly, time stops and the members of the Occult Research Society realize that Gasper has been kidnapped. Several Magicians appear and they attack the meeting. Issei volunteers to accompany Rias as she goes to rescue Gasper. Vali attacks the Magicians outside and easily kills them. Rias and Issei are transported to the old school building through castling using Rias' unused Rook piece. Before leaving, Azazel gives Issei two bracelets to control his and Gasper's Sacred Gears. Meanwhile, Katarea Leviathan arrives and attack the leaders. Azazel battles with Katerea after insulting her. Kiba, Xenovia and Irina also volunteer to help in battling the Magicians while Grayfia is analyzing the magic circle being used by the Magicians. Issei and Rias arrive at the room where Gasper and Koneko are being held captive. Issei lets Gasper drink his blood, allowing Gasper to properly control his powers. Issei then gives him his bracelet and the four of them head out. | |||

| The battle between the Magicians and the Three Factions continues as Gasper destroys the transportation circle used by the Magicians. Azazel kills Katerea after revealing his Artificial Sacred Gear, the Downfall Dragon Spear, but at the cost of an arm. Vali reveals that he is the traitor and laments that Issei is his rival. When he proposes killing Issei's parents to motivate him to become stronger, Issei furiously enters his Balance Breaker and battles Vali. Issei then takes a huge risk by absorbing in the power of the Divine Dividing into his Boosted Gear. Prompted by Azazel's comment Issei's power increases drastically and inflicts damage to Vali. As Vali prepares for a counterattack, Bikou intervenes and flees with Vali. After the fight, Issei asks Michael to allow Asia and Xenovia to pray to God without pain. Sometime later, in response to Sir Zechs's request to help Issei, Kiba and Gasper master their Sacred Gear, Azazel becomes the new advisor of the Occult Research Club. He also tells them that Sir Zechs has ordered the girls in Rias's peerage to move into the Hyodo Residence. As the girls move in, Rias asks Sir Zechs to renovate the house. | |||

| Issei was sleeping dreaming about all of the girls in his club, about how the they want to be with him and suddenly remembers about his previous girlfriend who tried to kill him and he has recurring dreams of the deceitful actions of his first girlfriend, Raynare the fallen angel, that cause him to question the girls around him. He wakes up to find that the Hyodo residence has been rebuilt as a three-story mansion including an training ground, bath and swimming pool. His parents are easily deceived, thinking that the Gremory family works in the construction business. Summer vacation is coming up, and the Occult Research Club members are going on a trip to the underworld. They enter by means of a protected train route, encountering Sona, Genshiro and Tsubaki also on their way to the underworld. Koneko is quiet and subdued during their trip. A surprise attack planned by Azazel helps determine what sort of training each member needs. While at the hot springs, Azazel expands Issei's perverted knowledge of the female body. Elsewhere, Kuroka expresses her intent to meet Koneko, her little sister. | |||

| The Occult Research Club members have dinner at the Gremory residence with Rias' family members. Asia and Xenovia join him in bed, claiming that they are uncomfortable with the luxurious setting. The next day, Azazel has them each start on their 20-day training session. Issei trains with Tannin, a reincarnated former Dragon King. After finishing the training, Issei is still unable to activate his Balance Breaker, so Azazel suggests the need for a catalyst for the activation. In the evening, they go to a gathering of the major families in the underworld. Before the gathering, Issei visits Koneko and is surprised to discover her concealed Anthropomorphic features. Rias shares Koneko's true identity as a Youkai and past with him. Later, during the party, Issei learns of the identity of a figure he encountered during his training, Sairaorg Bael. Issei also encounters Ravel Phoenix, the little sister of Rias' former fiancé, and Issei's former opponent, Riser Phoenix. She introduces herself as a free bishop piece and invites him to visit her soon. Shortly after, Issei notices Koneko's abrupt departure from the party. He follows her with Rias, and it is revealed that Koneko, who was taken in by Sir Zechs and given to Rias, felt the presence of her sister, Kuroka, who killed her master and went missing passé. | Koneko reuniting with her sister Kuroka, again. Rias recalls a conversation she had before with Koneko about not overworking herself. Koneko did not believe much in her powers and abilities in comparison to the other members of the club. Meanwhile, back at the party/event, Lord Odin arrives and is greeted by Lord Zechs. Most of the original party attendees appear happy with the arrivals to the party. Rias and Issei catch up with Koneko and Kuroka. They defend Koneko from Kuroka, who wants to take her back to their party. Loki arrives to the party to object to a new pack between Zechs and Odin. Loki's objection is that ragnarok will never be achieved if the pact is completed. He admits to working with the Chaos Brigade before a battle breaks out. In the battle Akeno’s father helps her and threatens Loki and In the meantime Beelzebub sends Loki away. The previous Dragon King from Issei's training helps with Rias and Issei's fight against Kuroka and her partner, Son Goku. Rias explains Koneko's painful past while living without any family save for the Gremory clan. Issei also swears to protect Koneko as a family member. Unfortunately, Kuroka uses a poison that severely weakens Rias and Koneko. Things intensify at the castle as Loki attacks the guests. Issei tries to use his usual methods of fighting but they have changed since training. He ends up taking a full blast to protect Rias and Koneko. Koneko encourages Issei and he realizes he has to touch Rias' boobs in order to upgrade his power. After some deciding to do, Issei pokes both of her boobs and powers up. The battles are won and the girls take a bath. Koneko seems to feel better about her position in the club. Issei and Rias run into each other in the hallway and Issei is amazed at how well Rias takes care of the group. Meanwhile, the Lords realize they have a problem in the form of Loki. | |||

| Three fractions are discussing how to deal with Loki. The members of the Sitri family volunteers to follow after Loki as Rias calls on her own brother to help. Irina will join Rias, Xenovia, Issei, and Akeno. While gearing up and saving goodbye, the party is joined by Rossweisse, Odin's daughter. Issei promises to protect Koneko, who is a bit worried about their trip, before both the Gremory Clan and Sitri family set out to chase down Loki. Issei and Genshirou discuss their respective club presidents before finally Loki appears. Loki and Rossweisse get into an argument before Loki summons Fenrir's children and the Midgard Serpent. Issei suits up and tries to battle against the two children of Fenrir. Xenovia and Kiba come to his aid. Tsubaki uses Mirror Alice against the serpent, sending its flames back at it. Irina transforms into what looks to be an angel and uses the power of Michael to attack. Loki finds that the group is more formidable than he believed. Koneko and Akeno both unleash new powerful forms. Rossweisse tries to reason with Loki again but he claims to be fixing Lord Odin's mistake. Genshirou traps Loki with his upgraded whip, but Loki breaks free and rains hail down on the group.The group is forced to use the remainder of their phoenix tears. The hammer of Thor appears as a gift from Odin. Rossweisse tells Issei to use it, but he's attacked right as he tries to use it. Issei seems to be on his death bed from a Fenrir attack. All of the Rias Club come to his aid and try to take down Fenrir and the serpent. Rias however invokes her last bits of strength, swearing to get revenge on Loki | |||

| The opening is the Gremory group hunting a stray devil named Maverick. After sending him to stand trial in the Underworld it's discovered that he was working in a lab developing Chimeras. The next day while Issei is wondering about Maverick's parting words, he overhears how many of the school girls are getting sick with anemia and that all the victims possess the same characteristic. Finding the source of the illness, Issei wants to protect it upon finding out its special ability. However, the rest of the group disapproves strongly, especially as some of the members are about to be inflicted with the same illness. | |||||

| Issei and Asia ask Rias to observe how the others do their jobs so they can learn how to do theirs better. The two are surprised on how simple the tasks are, from playing games, to cooking, to giving a foot massage (albeit with Akeno doing it in a sadistic way). When the gang accompanies Rias on her job to check to see if an Egyptian coffin is cursed, Issei becomes possessed by the mummy, an Egyptian Magician named Unas, who is just as perverted as Issei. Unas claims that he'll only release him if they remove the curse that binds him, the methods of removing it being perverted in nature. First, Rias dancing in a skimpy outfit; second, a kiss from Asia (albeit accidentally on the cheek); and third, rubbing his face on Akeno's breasts and hair. It turns out that he tricked them to free himself as the curse was placed on him by a female Devil from the Agares Clan who he tried to make his bride. While initially having the upper hand by binding the girls with his bandages, Issei is able to use Dress Break to free them, and Unas is destroyed by a combination of Akeno's thunder and Rias' Power of Destruction. | |||||
