Laura Roslin Mary McDonnell 1-4 76
Laura Roslin serves as the Secretary of Education at the time of the Cylon attack and later serves as President of the Twelve Colonies. She is also believed by some in the Fleet to be a religious figure essential to the fulfillment of the Pythian prophecy.
Kara Thrace ("Starbuck") Katee Sackhoff 1-4 74
Kara "Starbuck" Thrace is a gifted Viper pilot, with an attitude that has hindered her career in the Colonial Fleet. However, William Adama has confidence in Thrace's military skills, and she greatly aids the Fleet inside and out of the cockpit.
Lee Adama ("Apollo") Jamie Bamber 1-4 76
Leland Joseph Adama, commonly known as Lee Adama or by his callsign, "Apollo", is a former Colonial Fleet Reserve officer who is appointed Galactica '​s CAG after the Cylon attack the Twelve. He is the sole surviving son of William Adama.
Gaius Baltar James Callis 1-4 76
Doctor Gaius Baltar is a brilliant scientist who unintentionally aided the Cylons in their attack on the twelve colonies. A charismatic genius and womanizer, he is initially portrayed as a self-serving opportunist, but becomes a braver and more caring character over the course of the series.
Number Six Tricia Helfer 1-4 77
"Number Six" is a humanoid Cylon who plays several key roles in Cylon society. She is the first humanoid Cylon that viewers witness in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. Stunningly beautiful and highly religious, there are several versions of her, including Caprica-Six, Shelly Godfrey, Gina Inviere, Natalie Faust, Lida and Sonja. She is the only model that does not use one particular human alias for all copies.
Number Eight ("Boomer" and "Athena") Grace Park 1-4 77
Number Eight is a female humanoid Cylon model. Two prominent Number Eight copies serve at different times as Galactica pilots: Sharon Valerii and Sharon Agathon, using the call signs "Boomer" and "Athena", respectively. "Boomer" is a sleeper agent at the beginning of the series, herself unaware of being a Cylon.

Felix Gaeta Alessandro Juliani 1-4 61
Lieutenant Felix Gaeta ([ˈgeɪ.ɾə] or "gay-tah") is a young officer in the Colonial military. When the Cylons attack he has served three years as William Adama's Senior Officer of the Watch aboard Galactica.
Anastasia Dualla Kandyse McClure 1-4 56
Anastasia "Dee" Dualla [du.ˈɑ.lə] is the Communications Officer of Galactica.
Cally Henderson Tyrol Nicki Clyne 1-4 38
Cally is a young woman who works as a deckhand on Galactica. During her tenure on Galactica, she falls in love with and later marries her boss, Galen Tyrol. She gives birth to a child named Nikolaos "Niki" Tyroll, though the child's biological father is revealed to be Brendan "Hotdog" Costanza.
Samuel T. Anders ("Longshot") Michael Trucco 2-4 36
Before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, Anders was captain of the Caprica Buccaneers. On Cylon-occupied Caprica, he becomes leader of the human resistance until they are rescued by Kara Thrace.

Alex Quartararo ("Crashdown") Samuel Witwer 1-2 11
Alex "Crashdown" Quartararo is the Raptor ECO who replaces Karl Agathon after Sharon Valerii reluctantly leaves him behind on Cylon-occupied Caprica at his request.
Louanne Katraine ("Kat") Luciana Carro 1-3 18
"Kat" is a rookie Viper pilot aboard the Battlestar Galactica, part of a group being trained by Kara Thrace (Starbuck). Although a rookie, she is very sharp and talented, and quickly becomes a hot-shot pilot.
Margaret Edmondson ("Racetrack") Leah Cairns 1-4 33
"Racetrack" is a Raptor pilot aboard Galactica. Racetrack tends to have a dark, bitter, and cynical attitude towards life. She makes many crucial discoveries for the fleet during her recon missions.
Brendan Costanza ("Hot Dog") Bodie Olmos 1-4 36
"Hot Dog" is a Viper pilot on Galactica recruited from the Fleet's civilians. He initially acts more experienced than he really is, but grows to become one of Galactica '​s seasoned veteran pilots. He fathers a child with Cally Tyrol named Nikolas but does not take responsibility for him until this is revealed during the finale.
Diana Seelix ("Hardball") Jennifer Halley 1-4 21
Seelix is first a deckhand and later a Viper pilot aboard Galactica.
Aaron Kelly Ty Olsson 1-4 10
At the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, Captain Aaron Kelly is third-in-command aboard Galactica, ranking behind Admiral William Adama and Colonel Saul Tigh.

After the destruction of the Twelve Colonies, he and a number of other inmates find themselves stuck on the Astral Queen, a prison ship which joins the Battlestar Galactica in fleeing the Cylons.

Ellen Tigh is the wife of Colonel Saul Tigh. At the beginning of the series, he believes she has been killed during the Cylon attack of the Colonies while he was on Galactica. Ellen enjoys flirting with various men and working to enhance her and Saul's personal position.

"Number Five", known to the humans as Aaron Doral, appears to be a man in his mid-thirties. He is initially encountered aboard Galactica, where he is operating as a public relations executive. He seems designed to network, almost to the point of being the sleazy used-car salesman type, but with a sadistic, violent side.
Simon O'Neill (Number Four) Rick Worthy 2-4 8
"Number Four" is a humanoid Cylon that speaks calmly and purposefully. This model appears to be the medical specialist of the Cylons and also takes on the role of a doctor or medic when functioning as an infiltrator.
The Hybrid Tiffany Lyndall-Knight 3-4 9
The Hybrid is a being that represents the first step in the Cylon evolution from pure machines to organic beings. They serve as the central computer inside a basestar.

These traits sometimes compel her to feel that she has been left no choice but to take controversial, unpopular and morally questionable choices.

Kendra Shaw is an officer from the Ministry of Defense who is assigned to Battlestar Pegasus as Helena Cain's aide when the Cylons attack the twelve colonies. During the crisis, she becomes one of Cain's most trusted officers. Shaw only appears in the two hour television movie Razor kicking off Season 4. She is the protagonist of the story.

Lieutenant Louis Hoshi is the communications officer on the battlestar Pegasus, and later becomes the communications officer on Galactica.
