This is a list of Bangladeshi television and radio channels that are legally permitted by the Bangladesh government, organized in alphabetical order.There are 2 terrestrial state run TV channels: Bangladesh Television ( BTV ) and Sangshad Television. BTV runs a TV channel BTV World which broadcasts by satellite 24 hours a day to Asia, Australasia and the Middle East. Bangladesh government has approved new 2 private channels ‘Channel Bayanno’(Channel 52), on October 20 and on 6 November 2013 ‘Bangla TV’ got clearance. Another new 13 Private channels is waiting for Final Approval.

Channel i a privately owned television network in Bangladesh and the country's first digital channel. It is owned by the Impress Group (the largest conglomerates in Bangladesh, with interests in textiles, pharmaceuticals and media).

Diganta Television a private satellite TV channel in Bangladesh, founded in 2008. This is a project of Diganta Media Corporation, which is joined with one of its daily newspaper "The Daily Naiya Diganta". Diganta TV started formally broadcasting on 28 August 2008, with 16 hours of news and 8 hours of entertaining programs. Its operation has been temporarily suspended by BTRC.
Ekattor TV the first full HD 24/7 news and current affairs channel in Bengali that is transmitted from its studio in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Ekushey Television (ETV) the first private terrestrial channel in Bangladesh. Official transmission began on 14 April 2000, and, after a very short time, it became the voice of the nation. It has become the most popular TV channel in Bangladesh through its news and other innovative programs.[1]

Radio Foorti; 88.0 FM The biggest Bangladeshi FM radio station that went live on 21 September 2006. It is currently available in Dhaka, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Mymensingh, Chittagong, Noakhali, and Cox's Bazar.

Radio Metropolitan; 88.8 FM a government-owned FM radio station in Bangladesh. It is available in Dhaka only.
Radio Today; 89.6 FM the first FM Radio station in Bangladesh. Its first coverage was only in the capital, Dhaka, but later transmitted into the port-city Chittagong. It has eight station running at present, with stations in Cox's Bazar, Sylhet, Khulna, Bogra, Mymensingh and Barisal. Radio Today is planning to expend two more stations in Kushtia and Comilla.
Radio Capital; 94.8 FM an upcoming private FM radio station in Bangladesh. It will be available in Dhaka only very soon.

Upcoming radio stations

Awami League led government has granted 14 new radio station licenses.Alongside of this 14 new FM channel, there were 60 Community licenses were issued.[3]

Community Radios in Bangladesh

The Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC), in special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, considers community radio a special area for intervention. BNNRC has been promoting advocacy to the government in relation to community radio with other organizations since its emergence in 2000. As a result, the Ministry of Information of the People's Republic of Bangladesh announced the Community Radio Installation, Broadcast and Operation Policy 2008. Under this policy, the Ministry of Information approved 16 community radio stations for the first time in Bangladeshi history. To ensure the free flow of information to the people, the government enacted the Right to Information Act 2009. Community radio stations are a strong step in empowering rural people.
