Aikatsu! is an ongoing television anime series created and produced by Sunrise based on a card arcade game by Bandai. The series revolves around Ichigo Hoshimiya, an aspiring idol who enrolls into Starlight Academy and partakes in auditions using special Aikatsu cards. The series began airing on TV Tokyo from October 8, 2012. In Indonesia, Broadcast by RCTI, Every Saturday at 05:30 am.

The opening theme for episode 1-25 is "Signalize!" by Waka, Fūri, Sunao and Risuko while the ending theme is "Calendar Girl" (カレンダーガール Karendā Gāru) by Waka, Fūri and Sunao. For episodes 26-50, the opening theme is "Diamond Happy" (ダイヤモンドハッピー Daiyamondo Happī) by Waka, Fūri and Sunao while the ending is "Hirari/Hitori/Kirari" (ヒラリ／ヒトリ／キラリ) by Waka, Fūri, Sunao, Remi, Moe, Eri, Yuna, and Risuko. The ending theme for episode 44 is "Kiss of the Alice Blue" (アリスブルーのキス Arisu Burū no Kisu) by Rey. For episodes 51-75, the opening theme is "KIRA☆Power" by Waka, Fūri and Sunao while the ending theme is "Original Star☆彡" (オリジナルスター☆彡 Orijinaru Sutā☆彡) by Waka, Fūri, Sunao, Remi, Moe, Eri, Yuna, and Risuko.[1] For episodes 76-101, the opening theme is "SHINING LINE*" by Waka, Fūri, and Yuna, whilst the ending theme is "Precious" by Risuko, Waka, Fūri, and Mona. For episodes 102-126, the opening and ending themes respectively are "Du-Du-Wa DO IT!!" by Ruka, Mona, Miki, and Waka and "Good morning my dream" by Ruka, Mona, and Miki. From episodes 127 onwards, the opening and ending themes respectively are "Lovely Party Collection" by Ruka, Mona, and Miki and "Tutu・Ballerina" (チュチュ・バレリーナ) by Mona, Ruka, and Miki.

The series began release on DVD by Bandai Visual subsidiary Happinet from March 2, 2013, with initial releases of each volume containing bonus cards that can be used with Data Carddass machines.[2] Beginning with the second season on March 4, 2014, the series is also being released on Blu-ray Disc.[3][4]

The movie begins with Ichigo, Aoi, Ran, Otome, Yurika, Sakura, Kaede, and Akari performing "SHINING LINE*." After their concert, Orihime asks Mizuki to be the producer of Ichigo's solo live, an offer which Mizuki rejects. Orihime then informs Aoi that she is to be the producer of the Great Ichigo Starmiya Festival, and the group decides that Ichigo should present a new song at her concert. Ichigo asks Naoto to write the song for her, but he says he wouldn't be the right person, and leads her to Kanon, a local singer and songwriter. Kanon initially refuses Ichigo, as she has no experience in writing songs for other people, but eventually decides to give it a go after watching Ichigo perform with Aoi and Ran. That night, Ichigo meets with Mizuki at the event venue, the Starise Stadium (where Ichigo attended her first concert - Mizuki's). Mizuki informs Ichigo that she has decided to retire from the idol world, which disappoints Ichigo, Aoi, and Ran greatly.
The rest of the girls are eventually given their jobs in preparation for the festival - Ran is preparing the coords, Otome (with Akari as her assistant) is in charge of making goods, Yurika is on accounting, Kaede is choreographing, Sakura is making pamphlets, and Shion is planning the drama performances. Kanon presents the completed song to Ichigo - Etude of Radiance - but Ichigo feels something is missing, as the song is directed only to her fans. Ichigo expresses her desire for a song that will convince Mizuki to continue being an idol, and Kanon begins rewriting. On the day of the festival, Sakura, Yurika, and Kaede go to retrieve Ichigo's new Premium Dress from Amahane, while Akari goes off to search for Mizuki, who is nowhere to be found. The festival soon begins, with Ichigo performing with Aoi, Ran, Otome, and Seira. Kii and Sora make their entrance during the drama performances, as well.

Maria, meanwhile, helps Yurika and the others get back to Starise Stadium to deliver the Premium cards in time, while Akari finds Mizuki with some advice from Mizuki's manager, Honoka. Akari manages to bring Mizuki in time for Ichigo's final song - Etude of Radiance. Orihime and Ringo tell Mizuki that Ichigo is waiting for her, and she and Akari (who is given a new Premium from Tsubasa) join Ichigo on stage for an encore. With the festival closing, Ichigo and Mizuki's Aikatsu! rankings switch - with Ichigo now first and Mizuki second. Mizuki informs Ichigo that she's been inspired to continue work as an idol, and congratulates her on having finally reached where she is. Ichigo gives her Crystal Mic to Akari as thanks, and states that she will now wait for Akari to reach her.
