List of Adelaide Football Club coaches
The Adelaide Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Adelaide, South Australia. Playing in the Australian Football League, the team is the eldest of the two teams based in Adelaide. The 'Crows' joined the AFL in 1991 to represent the South Australian Football League on the national stage.[1] Out of 418 games, Adelaide has a winning percentage of 52.6%, with 220-1-197.[2]
Adelaide has had seven coaches since it joined the AFL. Neil Craig has the best record with a winning average of 61.54,[3] whereas Robert Shaw has the lowest, with a winning percentage of 38.36.[4] Malcolm Blight coached Adelaide to their two premierships in 1997 and 1998.[5] During the 2004 AFL season, Gary Ayres was informed that his contract would not be renewed, resulting in Neil Craig becoming caretaker coach from Round 14 to the end of the season.[6]
