Dr. Lisa Staiano-Coico is the 12th president of City College of New York.[1] She is also a widely published expert in skin cell biology, wound healing and burns.[2] As a graduate of Brooklyn College she is the first City University of New York Alumna to head City College.[3]
Early life
Lisa Staiano-Coico is a Brooklyn, New York native.
Career
Prior to becoming the president of City College of New York, she served as provost at Temple University from 2007–2010.[4]
Prior to her tenure at Temple University she served as the 12th Dean of the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University.[5][6] Prior to becoming dean, Staiano-Coico was director of the Tri-Institutional Research Program which was a partnership between Cornell University, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Rockefeller University.[7]
Faculty positions
Cornell University 1983–2004 She held appointment as professor of nutritional sciences, professor of fiber science and apparel design, professor of microbiology in surgery, professor of public health, and professor of microbiology in dermatology.[8] She was the provost of Temple University from 2007 to 2010.
