Lionel Holmes Wood Troughton (17 May 187931 August 1933) was an English cricketer. Primarily a batsman, he was captain of Kent County Cricket Club between 1914 and 1923.[1]

Born in Seaford, East Sussex, Troughton attended Dulwich College and played for the school eleven during 1897.[2] He made his first second eleven appearance for Kent in 1900, but had to wait until 1907 to make his first-class debut.[2] He accumulated over 700 runs in 1914 and 1921, his two most successful seasons.

He succeeded Ted Dillon as Kent captain in 1914 and held the post until 1923, when he became the club's general manager. He held this post until his death in 1933.[2]
