Line D (Prague Metro)

Line D (Czech: Linka D) is a proposed line of the Prague Metro, serving Prague 4 and Prague 12 in the south of the Czech capital. Chronologically the fourth (blue) line in the system, construction was approved in 2013 and should be constructed from 2017 to 2022. The project involves 10.5 kilometres (6.5 mi) of track with 10 stations.[1] As of October 2013 the city of Prague has spent more than 500 million Czech koruna on the project.[1] The route has two possibilities, yet to be determined: either as an extension to the network at Pankrác, or as an independent line.[1] Construction on Line D was previously expected to start in 2010 and build a route connecting Náměstí Míru with Pankrác.[2] An alternative was proposed in 2012, without building a transfer station at Pankrác, and instead sharing Line C between Nádraží Holešovice and Pankrác.[3] Finally transfer station in Pankrác and continue to Náměstí Míru was approved in 2014.
