Lilian Baylis Technology School, also known as LBTS, is a secondary school for students from ages 11–19, located in Kennington, London.

Ofsted report 2012/13: The Outstanding School

Lilian Baylis Technology School was graded as outstanding in all aspects by OfSTED. Outstanding for achievement, teaching, behaviour and leadership. No other secondary school in Lambeth has achieved this and Lilian Baylis Technology School is one of only 2 schools in London to achieve this since the new harder Ofsted inspection process was introduced in September 2012.

History

The school is named after Lilian Baylis(1874 – 1937)a theatrical producer and manager who lived nearby in Stockwell. It was originally based in purpose-built 1960s school buildings at Lollard Street, Kennington moving to the current premises on Kennington Lane in 2005. The 6th form LBT6 opened its doors in September 2012.

The school serves pupils aged 11-18 years (years 7 to 13). Each intake year has different colours - academic year 2014/2015 Year 7 (Yellow) Year 8 (Blue) Year 9 (Orange) Year 10 (Green) Year 11 (Purple).

The School has a house system. Each student and teacher is put in one of these houses:

Sapphire Sharks, Ruby Bears, Emerald Crocs, Amber Lions.
