The Scorched Carpet (Ligdia adustata) is a moth of the family Geometridae. It is found in Central Europe and Asia Minor.
The wingspan is 20–25 mm.Glossy white, suffused almost throughout with a yellow-ochreous tinge, the anterior part of forewing sometimes clearer white; cell-dot darker ochreous, often inconspicuous;a blue-grey, wavy band across the forewing near the outer margin. The basal area of the forewing also a dark blue-grey. ab. suffusa ab. nov. has the pale area completely infuscated.Larva moderately stout, bright green with red dorsal spots, a red lateral blotch on the 1st—2nd abdominals and red marks on claspers; a rare variety grey-brown. The pupa hibernates; red-brown with blackish wings.
The adults fly from April to August in two generations.
The larvae feed on spindle (Euonymus europaeus).
