Lewis Thompson Preston
Lewis Thompson Preston (August 5, 1926 in New York – May 4, 1995 in Washington, D.C) was a U.S. banker. He was President of the World Bank from September 1991 until his death in May 1995.
After service in the US Marines during World War II, he graduated from Harvard with a degree in history. He then worked at J. P. Morgan, where he became a board member and then CEO in 1980.
