Leukos Films
Leukos Films is a film production company launched in September 2007 by the Indian actor Madhavan. Its first commercial release, in December 2007, was Evano Oruvan. Despite having a below average opening, the film became an average grosser due to glowing reviews and positive word of mouth.[1]
Marketing strategy
Leukos Films organised sponsored international premieres for Evano Oruvan across the globe. The lead stars, Madhavan, Sangeetha and Seeman, were scheduled to be present at all venues and to have a "Meet & Greet" with winners of contests in each city. Top celebrities, press and the elite were to be invited to the premieres and to give their views on the film.[1]
The premieres in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto were scheduled to be on 26, 27 and 28 October 2007 respectively. It was the first time that an Indian film had such big premieres across the globe before its theatrical release. Evano Oruvan was also scheduled to premiere from 6 to 12 November in the UAE and from 22 to 24 November in Singapore and Malaysia.
