Leslee Udwin is a British filmmaker.[1] She was born in 1957[2] in Savyon, Israel. Her father was Jewish.[3] She is an actress and producer. She started her production company Assassin Films in 1989.[4] She produced the documentary India's Daughter and the films West is West and East is East (1999), and has also acted in various films and television series.[5][6][7][8] She lives in London, UK.
Udwin started her career as an actor and initially acted in the TV show Eldorado. Udwin's well-known work includes East is East, West is West and Mrs Ratcliffe's Revolution.
