Les Scadding

Les Scadding is the current chairman of Welsh football club Newport County A.F.C. who compete in League Two of the English football league system.

He made his fortune through winning the EuroMillions lottery in 2009 alongside his then wife Samantha Peachey-Scadding.[1] They won a total of £45.5m. Les had been unemployed for a year before buying the winning ticket and he had beaten testicular cancer five years earlier.[2]

He has three children from his first marriage and gave them each an undisclosed seven-figure sum but did not share any with their mother, Rose-Marie.[3][4][5]

In August 2012, Scadding succeeded Chris Blight as Chairman of Newport County A.F.C based in the city of Newport, Wales shortly after accepting an offer to join their board of directors.[6] Just over eight months after he took the position, Newport defeated fellow Welsh club Wrexham in the 2013 Conference Premier play-off Final to gain promotion to the Football League following a 25-year absence.[7]

In December 2013, it was reported that Les and Samantha had got divorced.[8]

In August 2014 Scadding presented a four part TV series for ITV Cymru Wales featuring Welsh lottery winners. The series was tilted "The Welsh Millionaires Club"[9]
