People linked to the commune

The painter Antonio de La Gandara (1861–1917) had maternal family originating from Loir-et-Cher. His daughter Antonia moved to Les Montils.

Marcelle The Laurain, whose parents remained at the castle in Frileuse was a model of the artist. A painting representing her was bequeathed by Mrs. Jean Angelo (born Laurain) to the museum of Blois. It represents her in an elegant pink silk dress.
