Les Fréres Cheminaud
Les Fréres Cheminaud is a Canadian country/folk group formed in 2001 in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. The band is composed of Pierre Fortin (vocals, guitar), Benoit Bouchard (vocals, bass), Charles Perron (vocals, guitar) and Étienne Côté (vocals, drums).
The name Les Fréres Cheminaud is intentionally misspelt with an "é" rather than the traditional French spelling "è" as in Fréres instead of Frères.
Biography
Les Fréres Cheminaud had their debut album in 2002 called "L'jour pis la nuite" with relative success. Their second album "Les hommes des Tavernes" was a collaboration with Pierre Girard. The album was issued in September 2006 to rave reviews under the RIF label distributed by Outside Music.
In 2007, after RIF folded, Les Fréres Cheminaud signed with Les disques NewRock, a Québec regional publishing house.
Les Fréres Cheminaud is an active live band that has done more than 200 shows. The band takes part in a lot of music events and festivals throughout Quebec.
Their biggest hits thus far are "Les hommes des tavernes" (2007) [1] and "Le frére Jean" (2007) [2] (again with an "é" instead of the traditional French spelling with an "è")
