Leo Edmund Scherman (born April 2, 1975) is an award winning Canadian director, writer, producer and actor. Scherman graduated in 1997 from McGill University with a degree in Cultural Studies.

Career

Scherman trained as an assistant director under, among others, Paul Schrader and David Cronenberg. He has directed two feature films, White Knuckles (2004) and Never Forget (2007) and co-wrote the feature film Living Death (2006). He created and directed the Much Music TV comedy series Screwed Over (2006). He created, produced, wrote and performed on the TV comedy series Cock'd Gunns (2007–08) for which he won two Gemini Awards for Best Writing and Best Ensemble Performance in a comedy series.

Scherman directed two seasons of Howie Mandel's NBC comedy series "Howie Do It" and wrote and directed two seasons of the Tracy Morgan hosted "Scare Tactics" for SyFy and TMN/MTV.

As of 2012, Scherman is currently in development on two feature film projects.
