Leninogorsk (Russian: Лениного́рск; Tatar Cyrillic: Лениногорск, Latin: Leninogorsk) is a town in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, located 322 kilometers (200 mi) southeast of Kazan. Population: 64,127(2010 Census);[3] 65,592(2002 Census);[5] 62,093(1989 Census).[6]

Administrative and municipal status

Within the framework of administrative divisions, Leninogorsk serves as the administrative center of Leninogorsky District, even though it is not a part of it.[1] As an administrative division, it is incorporated separately as the town of republic significance of Leninogorsk—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.[1] As a municipal division, the town of republic significance of Leninogorsk is incorporated within Leninogorsky Municipal District as Leninogorsk Urban Settlement.[2]
