Lefter Koka (born 4 August 1964 in Durrës[1]) is the Minister of Environment in the centre-left Coalition Government of Albania and member of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania for the Socialist Movement for Integration.[2] Koka served as Mayor of Durrës from 2003 to 2007

During the 80's Koka worked as professional footballer for the "Lokomotiva FC" in Durres.

In the 90's, after studying Business and Law, Koka Administered several companies such as Sucralba ShPK, Sugar Import-Export, and was also the principal shareholder of the 'Gj. K. Skenderbeu' Drinks Cantine in Durres. He quickly earned a reputation as a successful businessman in his city.

Lefter Koka entered politics in 2000 as Member of the Durres City Council.

In 2003, he was elected as Mayor of Durres until 2007. He then served for another two years as Member of the Council of the District of Durres.

In 2009, Lefter Koka is elected as Member of Parliament for the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI).

Until 2013 he served as Chair of the LSI Parliamentary Group and also as Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Finance.

In June 2013, Lefter Koka was reelected as Member of Parliament for LSI.

Since September 2013, Lefter Koka serves as Minister of Environment in the centre-left Coalition Government of Albania under Prime Minister Edi Rama.
