Simeone[1] (born 20 March 1980 in Essex, England) is an English musician, who joined the independent record label Le Coq Musique in 2008. Other artists of the label include Kevin Mooney of Adam And The Ants, Gary Asquith of Renegade Soundwave. Simeone left the label in 2012 to set up his own Vernal Equinox Records in London.

Solo career

Simeone released his debut album The Dream Weaver on the Le Coq Musique label in 2010.[2] The album won rave reviews from Rough Trade Records and Future Music of Future Publishing. The album also featured Kevin Mooney of Adam and The Ants on bass for one track titled "Epica" [3]

Productions and collaborations

His career as a freelance producer had begun when collaborating with various popular artists in 2010 & most notably: Karel Fialka,[4] Kevin Mooney, Gary Asquith of Renegade Soundwave, Alan Rear (Tony Mansfield, Miguel Bosé). These artists are also featured on Simeone's 2011 release An Introduction To Simeone.

Lee Simeone has contributed towards production & mastering duties on the Australian rock band Men at Work [5] Still Life 12 vinyl EP released in 2014 via Sony/ATV. He also recorded & performed a song for it titled 'Star Lane'. It came with a remastered vinyl LP of their 1983 album Cargo.[6] It's A-side also featured the original band album recording of 'Blue for You' remastered from the original masters at Abbey Road Studios[5] with mastering engineer Simon Gibson. The EP also features an interview hosted by Simeone with the original band member Ron Strykert.

Charity work

Simeone is a member of Neurofibromatosis Inc. (a nonprofit organization working towards neurofibromatosis patient support) and supports the charity with proceeds from his releases. He has also participated in charity events for Oxfam performing at their Oxjam Festivals.
