LeasePlan UK was created in 1979 and is part of the Dutch fleet management and financial services company LeasePlan Corporation N.V. which was founded in 1963. The Dutch parent company is 50% owned each by Volkswagen Bank GmbH and Fleet Investments B.V..
LeasePlan UK operates a fleet of over 137,000 vehicles including 38,000 commercial vehicles.[1] Major clients include Royal Mail,[2] NHS,[3] Virgin Media[4] and Carlsberg.[5]
There are four brands operated in the UK:
LeasePlan (for large corporate accounts), LeasePlan Go (for small to medium corporate accounts and Consumer Leases), Network (for small businesses and sole traders) Automotive Leasing (for the public sector).
Leaseplan Go was formerly called Fleetline, it was rebranded on 15 October 2012.[6]
In 2011, LeasePlan won Fleet News’ Customer service award[7] and Automotive Leasing won “Leasing company of the year” at the Green Fleet Awards for involvement with the fully electric Nissan Leaf.[8]
