This name uses Spanish naming customs: the first or paternal family name is Cabrera and the second or maternal family name is Sasía.

Leandro Daniel Cabrera Sasía (born 17 June 1991) is an Uruguayan professional footballer who plays for Spanish club Real Zaragoza. Mainly a central defender, he can also play as a left back.

Club career

Born in Montevideo, Cabrera started his career with local Defensor Sporting, playing in seven first division matches for the first team as it won the 2009 Clausura. In June 2009 he signed with La Liga side Atlético Madrid for 1.5 million, paid to former Uruguayan international player Daniel Fonseca, who owned his rights (and ceded 50% to the Spaniards).[1]

In a strange first season, where he even failed to appear for the reserves, Cabrera's debut for the first team only took place on 2 May 2010, playing as left back in Atlético's 1–3 away loss against Sevilla FC; he was also booked in the match.[2]

In the summer of 2010, Cabrera was loaned to Recreativo de Huelva for 2010–11, with the Andalusians in the second level.[3] The following campaign, in the same predicament, he joined another club in the category, CD Numancia.[4]
