Weverson Leandro Oliveira Moura (born 12 May 1993 in Brasília, Brazil), more commonly known simply as Leandro, is a Brazilian footballer who currently plays as a striker for Brazilian club Palmeiras.

Biography

Born in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, his first team debut for Grêmio came in 2011 with a victory over Ypiranga Erechim. Leandro took to the field in the second half and scored his first goal as a professional. After a month of becoming a professional football player, Leandro was the idol of the fans. He has been compared to other great Brazilian players who have played for Grêmio, like Ronaldinho and Carlos Eduardo. In his debut for Grêmio, he wore the number 21 shirt that was actually belonged to the center forward André Lima; a tape was used to cover the player's name. Once he made his debut, Leandro began wearing the number 17 shirt. During the Campeonato Gaúcho in 2011, Leandro scored a decisive goal against Internacional of Porto Alegre, who were the champions of South America. At the end of the season, he was voted best striker alongside Leandro Damião. In early 2013, in an exchange involving Hernán Barcos, he moved to Palmeiras, along with three more players. When presented, Palmeirense be told as a child, and then I was more anxious and honor to wear the cloak Alviverde. In team Palmeiras he shook network already in his debut against the União Barbarense.

Loaned to Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras until December 2013, Paulo Nobre, president of the club, revealed that, if Verdão wants the player, will have to pay Grêmio, his parent clube, 5 million euros. Despite the economic problems of the club, Nobre promised to get the money.[2]

On January 7, 2014, he signed permanently for Palmeiras who paid £8 million for 64% of his services.

International career

On April 4, 2013, Leandro was called up by Felipão for Brazil national football team to play the friendly against Bolivia.[3] He scored a goal on his début for the national team.
