Leamington Spa (Avenue) railway station
Leamington Spa Avenue railway station was a station serving the Warwickshire town of Leamington Spa. It was opened on 9 December 1844 by the London and Birmingham Railway.[1] The station was built alongside the GWR's station to provide a more convenient station in Leamington than the LNWR's station at Milverton.[2]
Leamington Spa Avenue provided passenger services towards Coventry and Rugby (via Daventry or Dunchurch), but was closed in 1965 as a part of the Beeching cuts. The Coventry line was diverting into the former Great Western station and the branches towards Rugby lost their services. Little remains of the station today.
