Lavanya Tripathi is an Indian model and actress. After working as a model and winning the Miss Uttarakhand title in 2006, she entered Telugu cinema in 2012 with Andala Rakshasi.

Early life

Lavanya Tripathi was born in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India and grew up in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.[2] Her father is a lawyer and practice in high and civil court and her mother is a retired teacher. She has two siblings, one brother and sister, both elder than her.[3] After completing her schooling in Dehradun she moved to Mumbai, where she graduated in Economics from Rishi Dayaram National College.[3][4]

She stated that she "always wanted to be in showbiz" but that her father wanted her to complete her studies first. She then started doing modelling, appearing in commercials, while also being part of television shows and series.[2] Lavanya Tripathi had won the title of Miss Uttarakhand in 2006.

Career

She made her feature film debut in the 2012 Telugu film Andala Rakshasi,[5] after a friend suggested that she audition for the role.[2] She earned critical acclaim for her performance as Midhuna and won the best debutant award from Maa TV.[2] The next year she starred in Doosukeltha which also proved successful.[2] In 2014, she made her debut in Tamil cinema with Brahman in which she played an aspiring journalist, Gayathri.[2] She has been signed for her second Tamil film, Naanum Rowdydhaan produced by Gautham Menon in which she will play the role of a deaf girl.[2] Her next Telugu project is Bale Bale Magadivoy with Nani.[6]
