Lauren Francesca is an American actress, musician, viral video comedian, and Internet personality on YouTube. She has appeared in YouTube videos from Barely Political, CollegeHumor, Epic Meal Time, Philip DeFranco, Jacksfilms, Bo Burnham, Indy Mogul, Mondo Media, Ninja Sex Party, Break Media and Totally Sketch.

Biography

Lauren Francesca is the daughter of Fred Siretta, a Broadway actor, dancer and choreographer who has worked with directors such as Elia Kazan, and Jo Ann Cifala, who has danced in Broadway shows such as Very Good Eddie and Whoopie[1] At the age of ten, Lauren Francesca performed a solo for over 500,000 people at the Washington Monument's "America Sings". At the age of eleven, she began studying and was later accepted as a full-time student at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School. She attended the Professional Performing Arts School, or PPAS, in New York City, notable alumni of which include Jesse Eisenberg, Alicia Keys, and Claire Danes. In her first year at PPAS, she was also accepted into Junior Division of the Alvin Ailey School. She briefly attended Fordham University under scholarship studying pre-med, but later transferred to the New York Institute of Technology, eventually graduating with a Bachelor of Science in pre-med and Biology.[2]

In 2008 and 2009, Lauren Francesca appeared numerous commercials, such as for AT&T, MTV, Comedy Central, and Spike TV. She appeared as a lead in various music videos for musicians such as Los Campesinos!, Wisin & Yandel, Method Man & Redman, and Don Omar. She also studied improv with the Upright Citizens Brigade.[2]

In 2008, Lauren Francesca began appearing in videos for Barely Political,[3] often alongside Obama Girl Amber Lee Ettinger. About a year later in 2009, Barely Political introduced The Key of Awesome, a series of music video parodies. Lauren Francesca's rise to fame would begin with her first appearance as Lady Gaga in The Key of Awesome's Lady Gaga Bad Romance parody. The video subsequently went viral.[2] She would go on to make further appearances as Lady Gaga in subsequent installments of The Key of Awesome and other Barely Political videos. She has also appeared in Barely Political videos impersonating and portraying Heidi Montag, J-WOWW, Poison Ivy, Nayer, Christina Aguilera, Mystique, and Iggy Azalea.

She also appeared in a number of videos for CollegeHumor, including "XBox Girls Strike Back", "The Six: Girls You Date in College", and "Photoshop Tutorial Rap".

In February 2011, Lauren Francesca launched her own YouTube channel IWantMyLauren with Jeff Gurian.[2] She also frequently collaborates on this channel with actor and internet personality Walter Masterson. On it, she continues to impersonate Lady Gaga and Iggy Azalea as well as Madonna, Paris Hilton, and Kim Kardashian. She also portrays a number of original characters, such as Miss Innapropriate[4] and Tammy the Tiger. She also concurrently started her own vlog channel SecretLifeofLauren .

In March 2012, Lauren Francesca began starring in Barely Political's sci-fi parody series Space Girl. Space Girl has been chosen to compete at the 2012 New York Television Festival.[5]

Lauren Francesca has made appearances in a number of Youtube videos from other content creators as well. In 2010, she appeared in a music video for Bo Burnham's song "Oh Bo". In November 2011, she was featured in the music video in episode 6 of "Next Time on Lonny" entitled Lonny Gets Revenge . In April 2012, Lauren Francesca began appearing as Alice in Zenescope Entertainment's YouTube Web series Comic Company. In October 2012, Lauren appeared in Ninja Sex Party's music video for their song "Unicorn Wizard" from their album "Strawberries and Cream". Lauren is also on the album's cover art. On January 5, 2013, Lauren Francesca appeared in the web series Lenox Avenue: The Series Chapter IV. She also served as a production coordinator for the series. On August 24, 2013, Lauren Francesca appeared as the Lifeguard in the video "SONGS IN REAL LIFE 4!!" made by "SteveKardynal". On February 19, 2014, Lauren Francesca was featured in the music video for Big Data's song "Dangerous". In December 2014, Lauren Francesca was featured as a principal actor in the comedic short "Bellz Angels", directed by Roman Dent.

Filmography

In 2009, Lauren Francesca appeared in her first supporting role in the feature film The Gate of the Fallen Angels. She appeared alongside Jersey Shore cast member Vinny Guadagnino.[6]

Lauren Francesca has appeared in the films Hellbenders and Construction which were completed in 2012. The film Hellbenders was featured at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival[7] She also appears in the film Bad Parents, which was released in 2013.[8] In 2014, Lauren Francesca appeared in the film Muck,[9] making her first starring role in a major feature film.

Lauren Francesca was also a producer on the film Una calle sin salida, which was well received at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.[10]

On October 8, 2009, Lauren Francesca appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart as a dancer in the music video "Still the Boss" for Rapper Slim Thug produced by Daily Show senior correspondent Wyatt Cenac.[11][12]

In the fall of 2011, Lauren Francesca starred in Three of One Kind with Perri Pierre. The movie premiered in NYC on March 17, 2013.

On January 18, 2012, Lauren Francesca appeared as a secretary in the Investigation Discovery series Fatal Encounters episode "The Sausage King."

Lauren Francesca appeared on two episodes of Season 3 of the FX comedy series Louie: Daddy's Girlfriend Part 1 (Airdate: July 19, 2012) and Ikea/Piano Lesson (Airdate: August 9, 2012). She appears as Kendra, a contestant on a reality show the series' protagonist Louie is watching.

Lauren Francesca is currently working on a pilot with writer Rex Pickett, author of the novel Sideways.

Other Credits

In June 2012, a character based on a costume Lauren Francesca wore at the 2011 New York Comic Con will appear in a One Shot issue of Zenescope Entertainment's comic series Grimm Fairy Tales.

Music

Lauren Francesca has also released two singles through the iTunes Store: "Hottie" and "Comic Con Anthem".[13] A music video for "Comic Con Anthem" was uploaded to YouTube on October 18, 2011 and can be seen here.

Lauren Francesca is currently recording an album with singer-songwriter and keyboardist Mark Mangold.
