The Latin (Roman Catholic) archbishopric of Nicosia, in Cyprus, was created in the time of the Crusades. It later became titular only. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia[1] there were 31 Latin archbishops from 1196, shortly after the conquest of Cyprus by Richard I of England, to 1502.
